About the role
As Senior Business Analyst, you’ll join us on a 12-month fixed-term contract and play an important role in understanding how our business works today, identifying opportunities to do things better and ensuring our technology solutions meet the needs of the people who use them.
You’ll work closely with stakeholders across the organisation, including People and Culture, finance, operations and IT teams, as well as external vendors and implementation partners. From gathering requirements and mapping processes through to data migration, testing and implementation, you’ll help connect the dots between business needs and technology outcomes.
This role is about more than documenting requirements. You’ll bring people together, challenge existing ways of working where there’s an opportunity to improve, and help ensure new systems are fit for purpose, sustainable and adopted successfully.
Additionally, you will:
Lead requirements gathering and stakeholder consultations to translate business needs into clear, testable system requirements.
Analyse and redesign business processes, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency and ways of working.
Play a key role in the implementation of a new HRIS, working closely with People and Culture and other stakeholders to define requirements, support solution design and ensure the system meets organisational needs.
Undertake fit-gap analysis and assess solution options to ensure technology solutions meet business and operational needs.
Support data migration, systems integration and transition activities, including data mapping, cleansing, validation and reconciliation.
Develop test scenarios and acceptance criteria, and support system testing, user acceptance testing and business sign-off.
Build effective relationships with internal stakeholders, vendors and implementation partners to resolve issues and deliver agreed outcomes.
Support business readiness, training and change adoption to help teams transition successfully to new systems and processes.
Identify risks, dependencies and opportunities for improvement, ensuring solutions align with organisational, operational, financial and compliance requirements.
About you
You’re a curious, practical and collaborative business analyst who enjoys getting to the heart of a problem. You can see the bigger picture while paying attention to the detail, and you know how to bring different perspectives together to find a way forward.
You’re comfortable working with both business and technical stakeholders, asking thoughtful questions and translating complex requirements into solutions that work in the real world. You also understand that successful technology implementation is as much about people and processes as it is about systems.
Additionally, you have:
Demonstrated experience delivering enterprise technology implementations, with experience implementing a new HRIS highly desirable, alongside other business-critical systems such as ERP, CRM, finance or payroll platforms.
An undergraduate qualification in Business, Information Technology or a related field.
Strong experience leading requirements gathering and developing clear business analysis documentation, including process maps, business rules, functional requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria.
Experience analysing and redesigning business processes, undertaking fit-gap analysis and evaluating solution options.
Experience supporting data migration, systems integration, testing and implementation activities.
The ability to work effectively with business stakeholders, technical teams, vendors and implementation partners.
Highly developed analytical, problem-solving, communication and facilitation skills.
The ability to quickly understand complex business, regulatory and compliance requirements and translate them into practical system and process requirements.
Experience in the not-for-profit, community services, government or health sectors would be highly regarded, as would familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics, Power Platform, SharePoint, Power BI, HRIS or ERP environments.
