AWS Specialist Solutions Architects (SSAs) are technologists with deep domain-specific expertise, able to address advanced concepts and feature designs. As part of the AWS sales organization, SSAs work with customers who have complex challenges that require expert-level knowledge to solve. SSAs craft secure, scalable, and resilient technical architectures that address those challenges. This might involve guiding customers as they refactor an application or designing entirely new cloud-based systems.
The Senior GTM Specialist SA, APJC, Security is a customer-facing technical role that combines deep security expertise with go-to-market execution. You will drive security-focused programs at scale across Australia, New Zealand, and the broader Asia-Pacific, Japan & China region — partnering with field sales teams, account solutions architects, and service teams to accelerate adoption of AWS security services and help customers build secure-by-design architectures.
AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.
Would you like to make history in the world of cloud computing? We are seeking an experienced Security Specialist SA to lead technical go-to-market programs, drive customer engagements across the security portfolio, and act as a trusted advisor to CISOs and security leaders across APJ.
- Lead and scale the Security Health Improvement Program across APJC — driving security posture assessments, Trusted Advisor finding remediation, and service activation across enterprise customers.
- Deliver expert-level technical engagements including architecture advisory (Network Firewall, Security Lake, GuardDuty, Security Agent), Well-Architected Security Reviews, and proof-of-concept support.
- Own and deliver WWSO security enablement programs (Activation Days, START sessions etc.) across APJ — including direct speaking, instructor coordination, and program administration.
- Act as a thought leader through public speaking (AWS Summits, re:Invent, CISO roundtables, industry forums), blog authorship, and reference architecture development.
- Represent the voice of the customer; bring customer feedback to AWS service teams to influence feature development and future product roadmap.
- Develop field enablement materials for the broader SA population, to help them understand how to integrate AWS security services into customer architectures.
- Partner with Business Development and GTM specialists to qualify pipeline, support conversion of security-adjacent opportunities, and identify new workloads.
Key job responsibilities
