Axis is hiring a Software Engineer on the French Riviera, where the Alps meet the sea! Join our Sophia-Antipolis R&D team to help shape the future of video analytics - combining innovation, research, and real-world product delivery.
Who is your future team?
We’re an international crew of AI and software engineers, blending research with robust solutions deployed worldwide. We develop video analytics products that help our customers solve real-world challenges, from improving security to optimizing operations. Our work spans cutting-edge research, accuracy evaluation, and market-ready solutions that deliver tangible impact.
Our secret? Passion, kindness, and knowledge sharing - all in a great place to live and work.
What you’ll do here as a Software Engineer in Video Analytics?
As part of our team and of the global Axis Software Team, you will be developing cutting-edge technologies revolving around analyzing video streams to infer high-level information to build products designed to make the world safer and smarter.
You will write code going into products sold around the world and that can make a difference for our customers. You will be part of all the phases of product-making life from inception to customer feedback.
You will be tightly collaborating with your colleagues in Sweden who boast a variety of skills, including embedded Linux engineers, AI R&D research engineers, validation engineers, front-end developers and of course peer software engineers.
Who are we looking for/Who are you?
We are first and foremost looking for someone who fits with our team & Axis’ values and spirit. Someone for whom openness, teamwork and collaboration is key in their work life. We want you to have a strong technical background and be autonomous, pragmatic and proactive in suggesting solutions to the technical challenges we are tackling.
We are looking for someone who is curious and passionate in the production of high quality, robust and reusable code and who has already built products from design to validation. Continuous improvement is important to you and it’s natural for you to share your knowledge so that everybody learns alongside…
We'd love to hear that you have/are:
• A bachelor or master’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or a related engineering field — ideally with a focus on imaging or video.
• Proficient in either Python and/or C++, in both Windows and Linux environments.
• At least 5 years of experience designing, developing and testing software products.
• Familiar with Git and/or Gerrit, MLOps, test automation, and CI/CD tools.
• Knowledge in cameras, imaging, software evaluation and embedded software is a big plus.
You need to be fluent in English whilst French and/or Swedish are considered bonus skills. Knowing what Fika means is important, though.
What Axis has to offer
Join a global company and work with modern technologies alongside highly skilled colleagues across the world. You’ll find plenty of opportunities to learn, contribute, and make an impact.
As part of the Axis Sophia-Antipolis team, you’ll enjoy a kind and caring environment, sustainable mobility incentives, a corporate bonus, ongoing training and self-development, comprehensive insurance and a pension plan, plus additional local perks. You’ll also collaborate closely with our teams in Sweden, with opportunities to travel for onboarding and joint projects.
