Software Engineer

About the role

In this role, you’ll contribute directly to Axon™, our Digital Twin SaaS platform. We’re looking for Software Engineers who are curious, analytically strong, and excited to grow in an intellectually challenging product environment.

A background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field will provide a strong foundation for success in this role. Beyond that, we value strong reasoning skills, an interest in software development, and the ambition to continuously learn and improve.

• You join the backend Analytics team within Product & Engineering: a close‑knit team of 20+ data scientists and engineers working closely with product owners to deliver end‑to‑end platform features.

• You help build and evolve the analytical backbone of the Axon platform.

• You translate strong abstract and analytical thinking into real‑world software solutions.

• You integrate customer data into scalable data models, building complex graph structures, analytical logic, and advanced capabilities for calculations, simulations, and querying.

• You know what clean, production‑ready code looks like. You have a strong focus on quality and maintainability.

• You build and extend a sophisticated backend, using .NET.

• You use AI -curiously and with judgement- to explore design options, write and improve code, validate tests, and speed up repetitive work.

• You’ll report to the Lead Software Engineer of Axon technology.

About you

We value people with a strong technical foundation, a growth mindset, curiosity, and the drive to build solutions that create real impact.

• Have a strong analytical and abstract reasoning mindset and enjoy mathematics, complex systems, and intellectual challenges.

• Hold a master’s degree in fields such as (Civil) Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or similar.

• Have your first work experience related to (backend) software development, ideally within a cloud-based environment and/or on product platforms.

• Have a strong interest in software development. Prior development experience is a big plus, but not required.

• Are curious about how AI is reshaping software development and eager to grow with it.

• Enjoy understanding how technical choices connect to real business impact.

• Are fluent in Dutch & English.

• Feel connected with and are ready to represent our company values: dig deep, own it, come together, move fast and be kind!

Why join us?

• Strong onboarding, daily collaboration and coaching by experienced engineers to help you grow fast.

• The chance to build a strong foundation for your software engineering career.

• Work on one growing SaaS product, instead of jumping from one short project to another.

• Build deep product and technical knowledge over time, so you can become an expert faster.

• High-impact work on real-life, complex supply chain problems.

• An intellectually challenging environment where deep thinking is valued.

• AI-enabled development that helps you focus on creativity, problem-solving, and quality.

• A fun culture that values ownership, curiosity, kindness, and helping each other succeed.

• Flexible working hours and a 50/50 hybrid model from our Mechelen office.

• Alongside a competitive salary and bonus, you'll have the choice between a flexible mobility budget or an electric company car with convenient charging facilities.

Bluecrux is a value chain consulting and technology company, specializing in transformative solutions for today’s complex supply chain landscape. We collaborate closely with industry leaders like Johnson & Johnson, GSK, Bridgestone, AkzoNobel, Beiersdorf, Oatly, and many more – creating partnerships that drive meaningful impact. With a global presence in Europe, the US and APAC, we’re committed to shaping the future of value chains, one success story at a time.

Axon helps companies bring scattered supply chain data together in one clear view, so our clients can better understand what is happening, make smarter decisions, and act faster. Our platform is used especially in Life Sciences and Healthcare, where supply chains are highly complex, and decisions can directly impact product launches, availability, and access to medicines. By helping companies see their supply chain more clearly, Axon supports faster product launches, better use of working capital, and more room for investment in research and development.

Axon is also still in a scale-up phase. There is a strong product vision, many new ideas to build, and a lot of product innovation still ahead.
