Stake, an Australian investing platform for ASX and Wall St, is hiring a Social Video Producer in Sydney to own social video end to end — concepting, scripting, shooting, directing and editing short- and long-form content for TikTok, Instagram, X, Facebook and YouTube. Core craft: self-shot/self-edited video, fast-turnaround market content.
About Stake

Today, we have 750,000+ customers and more than A$8B under administration. Join us as we continue to reshape the financial industry, inspire investor confidence and unleash the investor in everyone.
The role
We're looking for a Social Video Producer to join our Marketing team in Sydney.
Stake sits at the intersection of investing, culture and ambition. Every day, markets create stories, conversations and opportunities. Our job is to help ambitious Australians and New Zealanders make sense of them through content that informs, engages and inspires.
This is a video role, end to end. You'll take ideas from concept to final cut, covering scripting, shooting, directing, editing, sound, colour and motion. The result is polished, scroll-stopping social video for Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook and YouTube. You'll shoot and edit everything yourself, so you need to be exceptional at it: fast and sharp, with a craft standard that shows in every frame.
You won't be handed a shot list and asked to execute it. We want someone with the attitude and vision to own Stake's social video: pitch your own projects and series, build the creative direction, and shape what Stake looks and sounds like on screen.
You can turn a headline, an earnings result or a random Tuesday in the market into a video people actually want to send to their group chat. Money is serious, but talking about it doesn't have to be dull. We'd rather you push the creative than play it safe.
What you'll do
- Own social video production end to end: concepting, scripting, shooting, directing, editing and finishing
- Produce a consistent volume of high-quality, social-first video in both short-form and long-form formats
- Pitch and lead your own video projects and series rather than just executing a brief
- Shape the creative direction of Stake's video, including formats, style, pacing and sound
- Turn market moves, earnings results and news into fast-turnaround video when the moment calls for it
- Run your own shoots, including kit, locations, talent and footage management
- Work closely with the marketing team, who plan, schedule and publish, so every video lands on its channel
- Collaborate with our in house Create team and Compliance to keep content sharp and compliant in a regulated industry
What success looks like in your first 3 months
- You've launched your first video project or series, and it's clearly your vision from start to finish
- You're delivering a steady flow of video for every channel we're active on
- By the end of month three, you've formed your own view on where Stake's video content should go next (formats, series and style) and you're ready to present it with clear next steps
What you'll bring
- A standout showreel of social-first video you've shot and edited yourself
- Expert editing skills in Premiere Pro, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve or similar, including sound and colour
- Strong camera skills (lighting, audio and composition) and comfort running a shoot solo, without a crew
- Speed without sacrificing quality: you can turn around reactive content the same day the market moves
- Deep knowledge of platform-native video, including hooks, pacing, captions, aspect ratios and what works on TikTok versus YouTube
- Comfort owning a project end to end, from idea to final cut
- Curiosity about markets, investing and culture more broadly
- Editorial judgement: you can turn a complex idea or a market move into something simple, human and shareable
- Zero patience for jargon, buzzwords or anything that looks like it came out of a content factory
Nice to have
- Motion graphics skills (After Effects or similar)
- Graphic design skills (Figma, Adobe Creative Suite) for thumbnails, title cards and supporting assets
What's in it for you?
- Real ownership: this is your chance to shape Stake's video presence as your own, not just execute someone else's brief
- Room to grow: sharpen your craft across video, motion and creative direction, with the scope to go as far as you want to take it
- Get in early on AI video: explore how AI tools fit into video production, with support from AI specialists across the business
- A shot at being a face (or voice) of Stake, with the potential to appear on camera or do voice-over work as our social presence grows
