Summary:
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the successful execution of large and complex commercial kitchen construction projects. This role operates with a high level of independence and serves as a technical leader in kitchen equipment coordination, custom fabrication, installation logistics, and construction sequence. The Senior Project Manager works closely with internal teams, general contractors, consultants, manufacturers, and installation partners to plan, coordinate, and delivery projects successfully while protecting project scope, schedule and financial performance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the execution of multiple, concurrent, high-value and complex commercial kitchen construction projects
- Maintain full accountability for project scope, schedule, budget, billings, and contract compliance
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, general contractors, subcontractors, manufacturers, manufacturer representatives, fabricators and installation vendors
- Review equipment schedules, specifications, cut sheets, and plans; coordinate product selections, accessories, utility requirements, clearances, and scope gaps
- Manage equipment submittals, procurement, delivery, coordination, and installation of kitchen equipment and custom fabrication packages
- Review and approve purchase orders; initiate billings in accordance with contract terms and project milestones
- Identify constructability issues, long-lead items, scope gaps, and schedule conflicts, and resolve them before field impact
- Ensure projects are executed in accordance with applicable plans, specifications, contracts, and codes
- Maintain thorough, accurate, and organized project documentation
- Support sales, estimating, and operations with technical expertise and constructability insight
- Travel to job sites as required for field coordination, issue resolution, and closeout
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Extensive, direct knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment and KEC scope, including equipment categories, specifications, accessories, utility and MEP requirements, custom fabrication, health code requirements, and installation methods
- Ability to review foodservice drawings, equipment schedules, specifications, cut sheets, submittals, and shop drawings; identify gaps or conflicts and coordinate resolutions
- Hands-on experience coordinating directly with equipment manufacturers and factory contacts/technicians, manufacturer representatives, installation partners, and fabricators regarding product selection, lead times, procurement, fabrication, and field issues
- Ability to interpret construction documents, fabrication details, contracts, and installation methods; strong field measuring, field verification, and documentation skills
- Highly organized, with strong communication, time management, collaboration, and independent problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- AutoQuotes (AQ) experience reviewing or preparing equipment quotes, specifications, and documentation is a strong plus
- Bluebeam, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud. Field Wire experience
- Proven track record delivering projects with high customer satisfaction and strong financial performance
- Established working relationships across commercial kitchen equipment manufacturers, reps, factory contacts, fabricators, and installation partners
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position may provide informal leadership, mentorship, and guidance to Project Managers or Project Coordinators but does not have direct supervisory responsibility unless otherwise assigned.
Work Environment:
This position operates in both a professional office environment, as well as on construction and/or job sites as needed. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and works under fluorescent lighting. Noise levels in the work environment are usually moderate but can be severe at times. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time especially when on a jobsite.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to make repetitive substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
- Ability to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch
- Able to remain in a stationary position up to 50 percent of the time
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Ability to hear, read, and speak in order to communicate with employees, customers, vendors, etc.
- Ability to pull accurate field measurements using tape measure
