The Role
We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Linkapps squad, the squad building the integrations that let creators bring the rest of their digital world into their Linktree. Every app that plugs into a Linktree - the music player, the store, the mailing list signup, the ticket link - runs on the systems this team builds.
You will work across the full stack, designing and shipping the services, APIs and product surfaces behind those integrations. That means a lot of time in other people's APIs and SDKs: reading partner contracts closely, building integrations that hold up when someone else's service does not, and knowing when a pattern is worth generalising and when it is better to just ship the thing. It is hands-on IC work in a small distributed squad, close to the partners and close to what creators actually see.
With 70+ million people using Linktree and 48,000 new accounts created every day, the surfaces you build reach an enormous and varied audience - and the integrations you ship are often the reason someone’s Linktree becomes the one link that does everything. Most of all, you’ll help Linktree achieve our mission: to empower anyone to curate and grow their digital universe.
What You’ll Own
- Design, build and ship full-stack features across the Linkapps surface, from the partner-facing services through to what the creator actually sees.
- Own third-party integrations end-to-end: evaluate the partner’s API or SDK, design the integration, ship it, and keep it healthy in production.
- Ship inside our composable Link Apps system, and improve it where you hit its edges, so that the next integration costs less than the last one did without turning every integration into a platform project.
- Design and maintain the services, APIs and cloud infrastructure behind these experiences, with real attention to auth, rate limits, versioning and graceful degradation.
- Partner with product, design and partnerships to work out what’s technically feasible with a given partner and where the creator value actually sits.
- Instrument what you ship and use the data to decide what to fix, cut or double down on.
- Bring AI into how you build, and where it earns its place, into the integrations themselves.
- Contribute to a strong engineering culture in a small, distributed squad - clear writing, good reviews, and leaving the codebase better than you found it.
Who We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience shipping production full-stack features.
- Solid full-stack skills across our core stack (TypeScript, Node.js, React, PostgreSQL or MySQL, GraphQL, AWS), with the ability to move end-to-end on a feature.
- Meaningful experience integrating third-party APIs and SDKs - you’ve owned an integration in production and dealt with the auth, rate limits, versioning and outages that come with it.
- Comfortable working in a large, established codebase you did not write, with the judgment to know what is safe to change.
- Experience designing services and APIs within cloud-based, service-oriented architectures.
- Fluency with AI-assisted development (e.g. Claude, Cursor, Codex), including how to prompt, iterate, validate and refine what these tools produce.
- Comfortable with ambiguity: you can take a loosely defined partner opportunity and turn it into a shipped, measured feature.
- A high standard for craft. You notice the empty state, the error message and the loading flicker without being asked.
- A clear, async-first communicator who works well with product, design, partnerships and business stakeholders, and teammates across time zones.
- Based in Australia (Melbourne, Sydney or remote) preferred
Linktree is committed to providing a fair and competitive compensation package including cash, equity, and benefits.
P.S. If you don’t tick every box in this listing, please don’t rule yourself out. We take pride in inclusion and hiring incredible human beings with great potential over ticking boxes – so if this role resonates with you, hit that apply button!
Our Story
We’re on a mission to empower anyone to curate, grow, and monetize their digital universe. We created the “link in bio” category — and we’re just getting started. From creators, artists, and entrepreneurs to global brands, we’re redefining how people connect with their communities, showcase their content and promote products — all in one link.
Today, a community of 70+ million use Linktree, including icons like Adidas, TikTok, the UN Environmental Program, The NFL, Manchester United, World Central Kitchen, Sabrina Carpenter, Olivia Rodrigo, and Selena Gomez. With 48,000 new accounts created every day, Linktree is the fastest-growing leader in our space.
We’ve teamed up with some of the world’s biggest platforms including TikTok, Snap, YouTube, GoFundMe, Spotify, Google, Stripe, Reddit, Laylo, and Kajabi, to unify Linkers’ digital spaces, and we partner with retail brands Amazon, Lululemon, Nike, Target, Sephora, Lululemon, and more to share products they love.
We’re a tight-knit, passionate team building best-in-class tools that make online presence simple, powerful, and yours. If you're excited by the idea of shaping a new category, setting the standard, and making space for everyone to be seen and succeed, we’d love to meet you.
Where and How We Work
We're a global, diverse team spread across continents with offices in London, Los Angeles, Melbourne, and San Francisco. We work together flexibly and you can choose the setup that works best for you: fully remote or a hybrid mix of office and home.
We offer autonomy in how you structure your days and weeks. While we’re mindful of time zones and occasionally collaborate outside the typical 9–5, we lean into async work to keep things flowing. Our culture is family-friendly and Zoom-casual where kids, pets, and delivery drivers are welcome.
How we’ll help you thrive
Our approach to benefits considers the whole person and the unique contributions they bring to Linktree. We want the experience at Linktree to be one that enables people to truly thrive so we can Go Further Together (one of our values). Some ways we support you:
- An annual wellbeing allowance to use on things like (but not limited to) fitness memberships, development courses, childcare, travel, charitable donations, pet insurance, home office set-up - the choice is yours!
- 100% coverage (and 80% for your dependents) of your monthly premiums for medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance for US-based employees.
- Employer contribution towards your retirement.
- Generous time off for vacation, holidays, parental leave, volunteer time, and other categories.
- Employee stock option program - we want each and every employee to share in the company’s success.
At Linktree, we believe in promoting a culture that celebrates unique backgrounds, talents, and experiences, and we’re proud to be an equal opportunity workplace. We are creating an inclusive workplace where every individual feels valued, respected, and has equal opportunities to thrive. We aim to foster a diverse and inclusive environment where all team members have a sense of belonging. Linktree welcomes all people regardless of sex, gender identity, race, ethnicity, disability, pregnancy, age, or other lived experience. If you require accommodations to fully participate in our opportunities, please don't hesitate to reach us at [email protected] – your needs are important to us.
