Salesforce Product Owner

Salesforce Product Owner

Sheffield City Centre (Hybrid ~3 days per week in office)

Salary: £55,000 - £65,000

As Salesforce Product Owner, you will take ownership of how our Salesforce platform evolves to support the business. You will work closely with stakeholders to understand problems and opportunities, complete detailed scoping and turn agreed needs into clear, prioritised and deliverable product changes.

Sitting within the Technical CRM team, you will be responsible for driving projects and improvements from discovery through to delivery and adoption. You will bring together business context, user needs, data, process and technical considerations so that the team builds the right solution, in the right order, with a clear definition of success.

This is a hands-on delivery role for someone who can move comfortably between strategic product planning, detailed requirements, stakeholder conversations and day-to-day coordination with Salesforce administrators and developers.

What you will own

• The Salesforce product roadmap and prioritised delivery backlog, aligned to CRM and wider business priorities.
• Detailed discovery and scoping for product changes, including problem statements, user needs, process impacts, data requirements, dependencies, risks and success measures.
• Clear user stories, functional requirements, acceptance criteria and supporting process documentation.
• End-to-end coordination of Salesforce projects and product improvements from discovery and planning through build, testing, release and adoption.
• Product governance, including prioritisation decisions, scope control, release readiness and transparent stakeholder communication.
• Measurement of delivered outcomes, using feedback and operational insight to identify further improvements.

What you will be doing
Shape the product

• Build and maintain a clear view of Salesforce product priorities, balancing strategic goals, operational needs, technical health and available delivery capacity.
• Work with stakeholders to understand the underlying problem before defining a solution.
• Assess the value, urgency, effort, dependencies and risks of proposed changes and make evidence-based prioritisation recommendations.
• Define product outcomes and success measures so that delivery remains focused on business and user value.

Scope and define change

• Lead discovery workshops and structured stakeholder discussions.
• Map current and future processes and identify impacts across teams, data, integrations, controls and customer journeys.
• Turn requirements into well-structured epics, user stories, acceptance criteria and delivery-ready documentation.
• Work with technical colleagues to explore solution options, understand trade-offs and agree an approach that is scalable, supportable and proportionate.
• Challenge unclear or low-value requests constructively and prevent avoidable scope creep.

Drive delivery

• Coordinate delivery activity across Salesforce administrators, developers, project colleagues, subject matter experts and business owners.
• Keep scope, priorities, dependencies, decisions, risks and actions visible throughout delivery.
• Support backlog refinement, sprint or delivery planning, demonstrations and release preparation.
• Ensure testing is planned, acceptance criteria are met and business owners are ready to adopt the change.
• Communicate progress clearly, escalating decisions or blockers when required.

Improve adoption and outcomes

• Partner with stakeholders on change impact, communications, training and adoption planning.
• Gather feedback after release and assess whether the change has achieved its intended outcome.
• Use operational insight, user feedback and product data to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Maintain clear product, process and decision documentation so that changes remain understandable and supportable.

What we are looking for
Essential experience

• Experience working as a Product Owner, Salesforce Business Analyst, CRM Product Manager or in a comparable product delivery role.
• Practical experience of defining and delivering changes within Salesforce or a similarly complex CRM platform.
• Strong discovery, requirements gathering, process mapping and detailed scoping skills.
• Experience writing user stories, functional requirements and clear acceptance criteria.
• A track record of driving projects or product improvements through the full delivery lifecycle.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, including the ability to facilitate discussions, manage competing priorities and challenge constructively.
• An understanding of agile delivery, backlog management, testing, release planning and change adoption.
• Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to make complex topics understandable.

Desirable experience

• Salesforce Administrator, Business Analyst or Platform App Builder certification.
• Experience working with Salesforce Sales Cloud and/or Service Cloud.
• Awareness of Salesforce data models, automation, integrations, security and reporting.
• Experience working in a multi-disciplinary CRM or technology team.
• Experience defining measures of success and using insight to evaluate product outcomes.

How you will work

• Outcome focused: you keep the team centred on the problem to solve and the value to deliver.
• Structured and thorough: you can take an unclear request and turn it into a well-scoped, actionable change.
• Commercially aware: you use time and delivery capacity carefully and can explain the value of priorities.
• Collaborative: you build trusted relationships across technical and non-technical teams.
• Decisive and pragmatic: you make progress, manage trade-offs and avoid unnecessary complexity.
• Accountable: you own the product decision process and stay engaged through delivery, adoption and review.

What success looks like

• Salesforce priorities are clear, transparent and aligned to business outcomes.
• Projects and changes enter delivery with strong scope, requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Stakeholders understand decisions, progress, risks and what is expected from them.
• Delivery teams spend less time resolving ambiguity and more time building valuable, supportable solutions.
• Changes are tested, adopted and measured rather than treated as complete at release.
• The Salesforce platform continues to improve in a controlled, scalable and user-centred way.
