Leads large-scale ecological restoration and water-resource projects, managing full lifecycle from planning to closeout, mentoring teams, and ensuring regulatory compliance and financial performance.
At RES, we’re looking for purpose-driven individuals who are passionate about restoration and sustainability, and who want their work to make a lasting environmental impact. Our team members go above and beyond, bringing initiative, integrity, and a strong work ethic to every project. Collaboration is key—we thrive on teamwork, open communication, and diverse perspectives. In a field that constantly changes, we value those who are resilient, adaptable, and resourceful in the face of challenges. If you're intellectually curious, eager to learn, and ready to help restore ecosystems and protect natural resources, you’ll find your place here.
RES is seeking a Project Manager IV to lead large-scale, complex projects across ecological restoration, water resource management, and infrastructure resilience. This senior-level role requires an experienced leader capable of managing high-risk, high-value projects while mentoring teams and advancing technical excellence across the company.
This position will be responsible for full project lifecycle management—from planning to execution to closeout—while acting as a subject matter expert and strategic partner in regulatory, technical, and business development initiatives. If you thrive in complexity and are ready to shape the future of restoration and resilience, we want to hear from you.
Why You’ll Love This Job
At RES, we don’t just manage projects—we transform landscapes, protect ecosystems, and solve regulatory puzzles. As a PM IV, you’ll have the autonomy to lead high-impact initiatives while working with some of the most skilled scientists, engineers, and practitioners in the industry. You’ll also be helping RES expand into new markets, drive innovation, and elevate industry standards.
Here, you’ll be empowered to lead with integrity, influence policy, and deliver measurable environmental and financial results—on your terms, with the support of a strong, multidisciplinary team.
A Day in the Life
You’ll start your day checking in with your team—maybe it’s your internal design staff, subcontractors in the field, or regional leadership about a regulatory development.
Next up: a contract negotiation with a key client, where your understanding of scope, risk, and value sets the tone for long-term success.
You might spend your afternoon working on a project recovery plan or running a working session with PMs across the region to align on technical performance improvements.
By the end of the day, you’ll probably review financial reports, prep for a go/no-go evaluation, or contribute to a proposal for a major new opportunity.
We would love to talk to you if you have many of the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in applied sciences, engineering, construction management, or a related field.
- 15+ years of progressive experience in applied sciences, engineering, or construction.
- 10+ years of direct project management experience.
- Proven success managing complex, multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors.
- Strong command of project controls, including Opportunity Charters, PM Plans, Risk Registries, and MS Project (or equivalent scheduling tools).
- Demonstrated ability to plan, budget, and deliver projects on time, on budget, and in compliance.
- Skilled in financial reporting—budgets, revenue forecasting, margins, and percent complete.
- Experience negotiating and managing contracts with clients and subcontractors.
- Deep technical expertise in one or more specialized domains.
- Experience using PM tools and software as a central part of your communication and planning toolkit.
- Familiarity with evaluating regulatory, technical, and financial risk for go/no-go decisions.
What Will Make You Stand Out
- PMP certification or equivalent project management credential.
- Advanced degree or professional license (e.g., PE, PG).
- Experience influencing regulatory policy at the state, regional, or national level.
- Demonstrated leadership of regional or national initiatives to improve project delivery or technical performance.
You Will Thrive in This Role If You...
- Lead with clarity and confidence, even when the stakes are high.
- Know how to motivate and mentor teams across disciplines and geographies.
- Communicate with purpose—whether you're briefing executives, coaching a junior PM, or negotiating with regulators.
- Anticipate obstacles and solve problems before they become issues.
- Think both strategically and tactically—keeping the big picture in mind while executing with discipline.
- Take accountability seriously—for the work, the people, and the outcomes.
- Care deeply about building resilient environments and resilient teams
