Product Owner, Trading Infrastructure

We are a proprietary algorithmic trading firm. Our team manages the full trading cycle, from software development to creating and coding strategies and algorithms.

Our trading operations cover key exchanges. The firm trades across a broad range of asset classes, including equities, equity derivatives, options, commodity futures, rates futures, etc. We employ a diverse and growing array of algorithmic trading strategies, utilizing both HFT and MFT approaches.

We’ve got a team of 200+ professionals, with a strong emphasis on technology. Our employees are located all around the world, from the United States to Hong Kong. Although we maintain office spaces, we currently operate as a 100% remote organization.

Job Description

Role purpose:

Understand how trading actually runs in the company—from strategy code to exchange connectivity—and turn that understanding into infrastructure changes (hardware, network, DevOps) that let traders earn more. The job is not to run infra for its own sake, but to find where infra is costing us money or latency and fix it.

Responsibilities:

• Understand the trading pipeline end-to-end: which strategies run where, what they depend on, where latency and reliability matter most, and what infra limits ROI today.

• Research and propose infra improvements with a measurable trading impact:

  • Hardware (servers, NICs, colocation, kernel/BIOS tuning).
  • Connectivity (exchange links, cross-connects, network paths).
  • DevOps processes (deployment speed, monitoring, incident response).
  • Prioritize by expected effect on trading results, not by technical novelty.

• Analyze incoming requests from traders and quants for the Infra team:

  • Translate them into technical requirements and assess feasibility.
  • Push back when a request won't move the needle, and surface needs traders haven't articulated.

• Act as the bridge between trading desks and developers/architects/Infra, ensuring both sides understand each other.

Qualifications

• Understanding of how trading systems work: order flow, market data, latency sensitivity, connectivity to exchanges. Experience in a trading/fintech/HFT environment is a strong plus.

• Hands-on experience with:

  • Linux (administration, performance tuning, Bash/Python scripting).
  • Network technologies (routing, cross-connects, low-latency networking, DNS, firewalls).
  • Server hardware and its performance characteristics.
  • CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., GitLab CI, Terraform, Ansible).

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), including understanding when cloud makes sense for trading workloads and when it doesn't.

• Ability to quantify the impact of infra changes on trading outcomes (latency, uptime, fill rates, cost).
• Strong analytical skills and experience formalizing requirements.
• 3+ years in DevOps/infra or a similar technical role, ideally with exposure to trading.
• Proficiency in preparing documentation and technical specifications.
• Work with LLMs (a spec-driven approach is a strong plus).
• English B2.
