Essential Job Functions
With a high degree of autonomy:
- Own a core product area end to end, including its strategy and direction. Lead the planning for that area across every group involved, not only when coordinating others' work.
- Shape the feature roadmap for your product area with the leadership team, bringing a clear, evidence-backed point of view on where the area should go, then drive execution.
- Take on the most ambiguous and complex problems in your area, turning unclear, unowned mandates into a plan and a path to delivery.
- Refine raw product ideas and user journeys into high-quality acceptance criteria for development teams, and raise the standard for how requirements are written across the team, coordinating across engineering, customer success, quality assurance, and sales and marketing.
- Mentor and guide less-experienced product managers, review their work, and help set product standards and practices for the team.
- Create wireframes and functional mockups for new features to communicate concepts to business and technical teams.
- Collaborate with marketing to bring feature releases to market and drive adoption.
- Conduct user interviews to gather direct feedback and translate it into direction for your area.
- Analyze usage data to measure product utility, identify the real problems, and decide where your area invests next.
- Triage new feature ideas from client and user engagement and from within the business, and make the call on what earns a place on the roadmap.
- Other duties as assigned.
Other Skills & Abilities
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and align stakeholders without direct authority.
- Comfort operating with minimal direction in ambiguous, high-complexity situations.
- Strong working knowledge of Jira or a similar project management tool.
- Proficiency with available data tools, including SQL and BI tools.
- Experience managing feature release schedules and announcements.
- Working experience designing and managing APIs and integrations as part of a product offering.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree or better (required).
- 6+ years of experience in product management, product engineering, or customer success, in an environment focused on selling a software product or suite of products, including demonstrable experience owning a product area end to end.
- Prior experience with B2B SaaS products; logistics industry experience is a plus.
- Demonstrable experience leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing roadmap direction.
- Demonstrable experience mentoring or guiding other product managers, or otherwise raising product practice on a team.
- Experience working within agile frameworks (e.g., Kanban, Scrum).
- Demonstrable experience interacting directly with customers, business stakeholders, and technical teams.
- Demonstrable experience translating unrefined concepts into executable work.
- Demonstrable experience with UI/UX design (wireframes, storyboards, etc.).
