Pre-Sales Engineer

About ASI Solutions

ASI Solutions is an Australian-owned technology partner focused on making lives easier through agile, reliable technology at scale. For nearly 40 years, ASI has supported education, government, and commercial organisations as technology environments have grown more complex and more critical to performance. Our approach is practical and outcomes-led. We take the time to understand what matters to each organisation before designing and delivering right-sized, de-risked solutions across managed services, cloud, security, data and AI, and digital skills. With national capability and local delivery teams, ASI helps customers move forward with clarity and confidence.

About the Role

As a Presales Engineer, you'll be the technical voice our customers trust throughout the sales journey - translating complex ICT concepts into clear, practical advice and building confidence in the solutions we propose. You'll work closely with our Sales team and engineering colleagues, bringing deep technical knowledge together with genuine curiosity about what each customer actually needs. This is a role for someone who enjoys building relationships as much as solving technical problems, and who takes real pride in getting the solution right - that's how we Own the Outcome.

What You'll Be Doing

• Partnering with the Sales team to provide technical expertise and guidance throughout the sales process
• Drawing on your ICT knowledge to shape strategic advice and technology roadmaps for customers
• Clearly articulating ASI's suite of solutions and services, and taking ownership of proposed solutions
• Contributing to RFP/RFT responses and escalations with confidence and clarity
• Working alongside the Account Executive to present solutions directly to customers
• Collaborating with ASI's engineering team and technology vendors to construct the right-fit solution
• Bringing forward new and creative ideas for solutions or services we could take to market
• Supporting deal-closing activities such as speaking engagements and solution demonstrations
• Mentoring and supporting colleagues, and contributing to a strong, values-led team culture
• Maintaining alignment with ASI's Quality Management System and ISO 9001/27001 practices

A Bit About You

You're a natural communicator who's just as comfortable presenting to a room of stakeholders as you are deep in technical detail. You bring strong relationship-building instincts, a collaborative mindset, and the kind of curiosity that means you're always learning about new technologies and industry trends. You know how to prioritise competing demands without losing sight of the customer, and you genuinely enjoy being part of a team that supports each other to Win Together.

• Sound understanding of cyber security frameworks such as ASD Essential Eight and NIST
• Familiarity with IT service management frameworks such as ITIL
• Comfortable working independently or as part of a team
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritise effectively
