Oliver Wyman

Description:

Who we are

Oliver Wyman is a global management consulting firm. We work with clients through their most defining moments, combining deep industry knowledge, specialized expertise, and the power of perspective to help them adapt, grow, and thrive.

We believe diverse perspectives make the work stronger. Our consultants bring different backgrounds, experiences, and ways of thinking to help solve complex problems and create lasting impact for clients, colleagues, and communities.

At Oliver Wyman, we are proud of the values that we aspire to live by. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive and reach their full potential.

Quotient — AI by Oliver Wyman brings together deep industry insight, strategic advisory, and hands-on AI delivery to help organizations move from proof to production and from production to enterprise value.

The role

WAVE is a newly created team within Quotient. It exists to accelerate AI-enabled business development and help our teams move faster, think differently, and build with reuse in mind.

As an AI Engineer, you will be one of the build engines of WAVE. You will turn briefs into working prototypes and production-ready solutions, with a focus on agent- and LLM-based work, and traditional ML where that is the right tool for the problem. This is a hands-on role for engineers who want to move quickly, make practical design decisions, and build solutions that are useful, reusable, and worth scaling.

We are hiring sevaral AI Engineers across a deliberate spread of strengths, so the team covers the full range from software engineering to data science to modern AI and agent design.

What you will do

You will help WAVE turn ideas into usable technical solutions that support business development and project execution.

You will:

• Build AI agent and LLM-based solutions that support Bunisess Development and project execution.
• Develop traditional ML and analytical models where they are the best fit for the problem.
• Prototype disruptive delivery formats, including agents, avatars, and visual formats that can reduce dependence on slides and meetings.
• Build with reuse and scale in mind, coordinating with Quotient Inside when a solution is ready to be productized.
• Work closely with the Technical Business Partner to translate business needs into technical execution.
• Collaborate with the Platform / Infrastructure Engineer to deploy solutions reliably and maintainably.
• Pair with the Front-end / AI Content Creator on client-facing outputs and presentation formats where needed.
• Join client discussions when technical credibility needs to be demonstrated or explained.
• Help the team move quickly from experiment to delivery while keeping quality high.

Specialisation tracks

We are hiring across a spread of strengths. You do not need to fit every track, but you should be strong in one and comfortable collaborating across all three.

• Software-engineering-leaning
You bring strong software development fundamentals and take ownership of robustness, structure, and production quality.

• Data-science-leaning
You bring strong ML and analytical grounding and are closest to the data science craft.

• Core AI / agents
You bring depth in modern agent frameworks and LLM application patterns, with a practical understanding of what it takes to make them work in real settings.

How you will be measured

Our success is simple to state: demand for our work should outgrow our capacity. You’ll know you are succeeding when prototypes ship quickly, when partners keep coming back for more, and when more of what WAVE builds becomes reusable, scalable, and ready to deploy again.

Why join us?

You can be your best here. At Oliver Wyman, you will find meaningful work, talented people, and a culture built on trust, support, and growth.

Create solutions that have impact

• Build AI-enabled work that helps our teams win work, sharpen proposals, and move faster on important opportunities.
• Turn promising ideas into working solutions that can support business development and project delivery.
• Be part of a team where success is measured not only by what is built, but by whether it can be reused, scaled, and sold again.

Develop as a leader

• Take ownership from day one in a role that sits at the centre of WAVE’s delivery engine.
• Build credibility by making practical technical calls and helping others move quickly without losing quality.
• Develop the confidence to lead through technical judgement, collaboration, and clear communication.

Learn without limits

• Build a rare mix of AI engineering, product thinking, and exposure to consulting-led delivery.
• Work closely with colleagues across Quotient and the wider firm, learning from both business and technical perspectives.
• Deepen your understanding of how to turn modern AI capabilities into solutions that are realistic, scalable, and reusable.

Thrive in a vibrant and inclusive culture

• Work as part of a collaborative team that values different perspectives and practical problem solving.
• Help shape how a new team grows, in a culture where people are encouraged to speak up, share ideas, and move quickly together.
• Join an environment that supports inclusion, teamwork, and mutual respect.

Experience rewards that work for you

• Enjoy a role designed for learning, visibility, and growth inside a newly created team.
• Be part of a pilot that is built to scale, giving you exposure to how a new capability is shaped from the ground up.
• Work in a way that supports performance, development, and sustainability.

Who can apply?

We are looking for engineers who combine strong hands-on technical skills with a pragmatic, ship-it mindset. The right person will be comfortable making consequential design calls quickly, iterating fast, and working across both engineering and business conversations.

This role is well suited to someone who wants to work at the intersection of AI engineering, consulting, productization, and delivery.

Required qualifications

• Fluency in Python and modern AI / ML tooling across the build lifecycle.
• Hands-on experience shipping LLM-based or ML solutions, ideally under time pressure.
• For the data-science-leaning track: strong grounding in the mathematics of ML, including statistics and linear algebra, plus a range of modelling techniques.
• For the software-engineering-leaning track: strong engineering practice, including testing, code hygiene, and deployment.
• Ability to make practical design decisions quickly and keep moving.
• Experience building solutions that are useful in real-world settings, not only in experiments.
• Full professional English.
• Spanish welcome.

Preferred qualifications

• Interest or background in Banking & Financial Services.
• Open-source contributions or compelling side projects.
• Experience working with agent frameworks, LLM application patterns, or data / AI workloads in production.
• Experience building solutions designed for reuse, scale, or productization.
• Comfort working in a fast-moving environment with multiple concurrent priorities.

How to apply

Please submit your CV and cover letter. If shortlisted, you will be invited to meet members of the WAVE team and discuss your experience, motivation, and approach to the role.

What to expect during the interview process

At Oliver Wyman, we want you to shine in your interview. Our process is designed like our work environment — it is challenging, exciting, and fun.

We keep our process short and transparent:

Screening conversation with the team lead. Technical exercise relevant to the role, either take-home or live depending on the stage. Two to three team-fit and craft interviews, including at least one with a partner. Offer.

We assess both technical craft and the ability to work fluidly with a multidisciplinary team.
