A junior developer joins Geologic's small Calgary team to build a new cloud-first energy data product on AWS with AI built in, writing and shipping real code early, pairing with senior developers, and gradually owning features end to end using Angular, TypeScript, Python, SQL, and REST APIs.
Geologicis a trusted data, software, and information solutions company committed to the Energy Industry. Everyday we provide global customers with market-leading data, software, platforms, analytics, education, news, and insights that enable them to make vital decisions that drive growth and efficiency. Based in Calgary, with offices in London (UK) and Houston (US), we deliver critical data-driven intelligence ranging from surface and subsurface well/asset level information & insights to corporate performance benchmarking data and A&D transaction data.
People make us successful. We're driven by a team of individuals whose unique backgrounds and experience allow us to provide the best products and customer service on the market. Together we're transforming the energy intelligence landscape.
We're building a new cloud-first product, designed from the ground up on modern technology with AI at its core, and we're looking for a Junior Software Developerto grow with it. You don't need years of industry experience. You do need solid fundamentals, real curiosity, and evidence that you enjoy solving hard problems, whether that comes from your degree, co-op or internship terms, personal projects, or open source.
You'll join a small software development team building something new, working alongside senior software developers who will pair with you, review your code, and help you get good quickly.
You'll write and ship real code from early on, starting with well-scoped pieces of the product and taking on more as you find your feet. You'll work on our cloud-first product on AWS and get hands-on exposure to modern AI and agentic approaches as part of everyday development, not as a side project.
Your work will be reviewed, and you'll be expected to ask questions, take feedback well, and learn fast. Over time you'll own features end to end and start contributing to how things are designed, not just how they're built.
