IT Helpdesk Engineer (Entry-Level) – Training & Career Development Opportunities

No relevant IT work experience? Looking to start a career in IT? We are willing to teach you.

Interested in IT but unsure whether you should pursue cybersecurity, cloud administration, network engineering, system administration or IT management?

Start your career with us and gain practical, hands-on experience supporting real users, working with business IT systems and learning how IT operations are managed in a professional environment.

We believe that a good IT engineer is not defined by certificates alone. Attitude, logical thinking, willingness to learn and the ability to work well with others matter just as much.

You do not need to know everything before joining us. What matters is your willingness to learn, ask questions, take responsibility and improve.

What You Will Learn

We will guide you progressively, starting with IT support fundamentals and introducing you to more advanced responsibilities as you gain experience and demonstrate your ability.

By the end of your training and development, you will have opportunities to learn and work with:

• IT Support & Troubleshooting – Diagnose and resolve common Windows, computer, application, printer, network and user account issues.

• Microsoft 365 & User Administration – Learn how user accounts, permissions, email and access to company resources are managed.

• Cloud & IT Security – Gain exposure to Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, device compliance, security policies and endpoint management.

• IT Operations & Preventive Maintenance – Perform system checks, software updates, endpoint maintenance and IT asset inventory.

• Documentation & SOP Development – Learn how to document solutions, improve troubleshooting guides and create standard operating procedures.

• Reporting & Service Management – Learn how to maintain service records, analyse recurring issues, prepare reports and identify opportunities to improve service quality.

• Process Improvement & Automation – Explore how tools and automation can reduce repetitive work and improve team productivity.

As you become more competent, you may have opportunities to take on higher-level responsibilities such as handling more complex technical issues, mentoring new engineers, conducting internal training, coordinating daily operations or supporting team leadership.

Career progression depends on your performance, capabilities, business needs and readiness to take on greater responsibility. We want to develop people who can grow with the company rather than remain limited to routine troubleshooting.

What You Will Be Doing

Your initial responsibilities will focus on building a strong foundation in IT support:

• Answer and assist end users with day-to-day IT issues, both onsite and remotely.

• Troubleshoot computers, Windows operating systems, applications, printers and basic network connectivity.

• Assist with user account setup, access requests, software installation and device configuration.

• Follow established troubleshooting procedures and escalate issues when necessary.

• Record incidents, document resolutions and maintain accurate service records.

• Perform routine IT checks, preventive maintenance and inventory updates.

• Work with your teammates to resolve issues and provide a good user support experience.

You will be expected to apply what you learn, follow established procedures and gradually handle more responsibilities as your skills develop.

We welcome fresh graduates, career starters and candidates who are looking for an opportunity to enter the IT industry.

You may be a good fit if you:

• Are comfortable asking questions, accepting feedback and learning from mistakes.

• Have a positive attitude towards teamwork, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

Technical Background

• Basic IT knowledge or an interest in computer hardware, Windows, networking or troubleshooting is an advantage.

• Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Entra ID, Intune, computer imaging or printer troubleshooting is helpful, but not compulsory.

• Relevant IT certificates are welcome but are not the main deciding factor.

• Candidates with no relevant work experience are encouraged to apply.

• Applicants with Nitec, Higher Nitec, Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Graduate Diploma or equivalent qualifications in IT, Computer Science or related fields are welcome.

We are more interested in your attitude and potential than in how many certificates you have collected.
