The Position

We are a team of business-minded technologists who play "offense"—moving beyond supporting systems to architecting a high-performance digital chassis. We aim to amplify human potential by creating a zero-effort, intelligent ecosystem where technology simplifies complexity and empowers every Roche employee to do their best work.

The Workforce area drives Roche’s operational excellence across People, Finance, and Compliance. We manage everything from Payroll and People Relations to the technical architecture for Total Rewards. Our goal is to transform transactional HR into an invisible, zero-effort experience—combining rigorous global compliance with intelligent, automated systems to deliver a stable, high-value service ecosystem.

Disclosure Note: The position is open on a fixed-term basis for 3 years.

The Opportunity

The HRIS Systems Specialist (Technical Systems Administrator for Payroll, Time, Benefits and other rewards systems), acts as a hands-on technical problem solver who takes ownership of ambiguous tasks, challenges the status quo, and acts as a technical mentor while fostering strong collaboration across teams. In this role, you will lead small to medium initiatives, prioritize effectively with stakeholders, and maintain a "bigger picture" view of how various components align with the overall strategy.

You will perform deep technical analysis of system and access issues across Roche’s complex network, design and implement technical solutions directly or guide third-party vendor partners and Managed Service Providers (MSPs) to execute them. You will analyze complex business problems to recommend automated solutions, identify and implement process improvements, and optimize system configurations for peak efficiency.

Operating across Roche’s multi-payroll matrix—which spans multiple global solutions including Workday Payroll connections, Strada, CHRIS, Ramco, and Deloitte—you will combine technical troubleshooting with strong stakeholder management, stepping into business meetings to turn operational challenges into robust technical fixes. By developing comprehensive test strategies, leading cross-functional teams, and designing system integrations, you will leverage a deep understanding of the broader technical landscape to drive high-quality outcomes.
