Full-stack developer (the 4th core tech hire) building Staccato's AI music co-writer desktop app and website end to end with TypeScript, React, Node.js, and C++, including scalable server-side architecture, public APIs, security, and mentoring the growing dev team.
In a world where companies are quickly building AI tools that will replace human jobs, our mission is to instead empower music creators with AI.
At Staccato, we’ve built an AI co-writer for music producers, enabling them to unlock a constant state of creative flow. Our flagship product helps artists create, extend, and rewrite music using simple text prompts. It listens to your music, understands musical context, and offers suggestions to help you move your music forward.
What sets Staccato apart is its use of MIDI, the digital language of music used by professionals. Unlike audio-based AI tools, this allows for precise control over individual notes and instrument selection, making it easy to edit, customize, and build on your ideas.

Staccato has been featured in The Globe and Mail, Fast Company, and Billboard.com. We are the first (and only) venture capital-backed AI music startup in Canada. Our team is growing, and this is where you come in.
We are looking for a Full Stack Developer (Typescript, React, Node.js, and C++) to rapidly develop our desktop application, which brings our generative ML music technology to producers. You will be the fourth member of the core tech team and will be responsible for the full software development life cycle, from conception to deployment. You'll report directly to our Co-Founder and play a key role in leading the tech team as it grows, including mentoring developers, reviewing code, and helping set technical direction.
Please note that this position is only open to those legally eligible to work in Canada.
Application deadline: Friday, October 9, 2026.
