A hands-on IT infrastructure generalist who owns Appex Innovation's environment end to end: provisioning AWS/GCP cloud infrastructure, administering Linux servers and application servers (Tomcat/Apache, LDAP), building CI/CD workflows, plus on-site duties like desktop support, patching, IT assets, and CCTV/biometric access systems. Based in Mumbai (Wadala) working a UK shift.
Appex Innovation delivers healthcare technology and services across the United States and India through our Patient Wellness Program and product suite — iCareSecure, MyHealth, and CareSeva. Our IT team keeps the cloud platforms, applications, and on-site infrastructure that power these products running securely and reliably.
We are looking for a hands-on IT Infrastructure & Systems Engineer to own our IT environment end to end — from cloud and application infrastructure to on-site systems, end-user support, and physical security devices. This is a broad generalist role for someone comfortable moving between an AWS console and a server room in the same day, keeping both our digital platforms and our office infrastructure running smoothly.
Provision, deploy, and support infrastructure on AWS and GCP for business applications.
Manage and maintain on-premises and cloud-hosted applications, including deployments of new applications.
Administer and troubleshoot Linux servers (RHEL/OEL), including package management, file systems, and services.
Install and configure application servers (Tomcat / Apache), LDAP, and security realms; apply patches and service packs.
Build and optimize CI/CD workflows to support software releases, with work and releases tracked in Jira.
Develop scripts and automation for repetitive infrastructure tasks.
Monitor performance and troubleshoot issues (log analysis, thread/heap dumps, JAR/EAR/WAR files).
Maintain infrastructure documentation, standards, and network diagrams.
Provide desktop and laptop support — setup, imaging, troubleshooting, and repairs — for staff.
Perform routine server maintenance, patching, and firmware/software updates across IT infrastructure.
Manage user accounts, access, and endpoint security.
Track and maintain IT asset inventory.
Maintain CCTV / camera surveillance systems — configuration, monitoring, and coordinating repairs.
Administer ESSL biometric attendance and access-control devices, including enrollment, integration, and troubleshooting.
Coordinate with vendors for hardware, connectivity, and facilities-related IT.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience).
3+ years in an IT infrastructure, systems administration, or IT support role.
Working knowledge of AWS and GCP cloud services (e.g. EC2, S3, RDS, IAM) and infrastructure deployment.
Linux administration and troubleshooting (RHEL / OEL): packages, file systems, services, patching.
Hands-on experience supporting desktops, laptops, and servers.
Familiarity with networking, storage, load balancing, and OS security fundamentals.
Strong problem-solving skills and clear communication with both technical and non-technical staff.
Experience with CCTV systems and ESSL (or similar) biometric attendance / access-control devices.
Application-server experience (Tomcat / Apache), CI/CD pipelines, and scripting/automation.
Knowledge of a relational database (MySQL, Oracle, or PostgreSQL).
Familiarity with the Atlassian stack — Jira and Bitbucket — or Git-based source control.
Exposure to healthcare or regulated-industry IT and security/compliance requirements.
