Were looking for Backend Developers in Gothenburg!

TECHLA is a Gothenburg-based consulting company working with modern product development across software, embedded systems, cloud and DevOps.

We started TECHLA with a simple idea: to build the kind of consulting company we would want to work for ourselves. We want to build long-term relationships, work with great people and create an environment where both our consultants and our clients can thrive.

We believe in transparency, trust and giving people the freedom and responsibility to grow. Our consultants should feel that they are part of something, have a real influence and are rewarded for the value they create.

At TECHLA, technology matters – but people matter even more. We believe the best results come from skilled people who take ownership, work closely together and genuinely care about what they deliver.

We are big enough to deliver, but small enough to care.

We’re looking for experienced Backend Developers in Gothenburg who combine strong technical skills with ownership, curiosity and a genuine drive to move things forward.

We’re open to both employment and freelance/subcontractor setups – so whether you’re looking to join TECHLA or take on your next assignment as an independent consultant, we’d love to hear from you.

What you’ll be working with

You’ll join a development team at one of our clients, working with modern cloud-based backend services and complex technical challenges. Depending on the role, the stack may include Java, Spring Boot, Python, AWS, Azure and Kubernetes.

You’ll be part of a collaborative, DevOps-oriented team with responsbility for the full lifecycle of its services – from development and implementation to deployment, monitoring, operations and continuous improvement.

Your work may include:

• Developing and maintaining backend services in Java, Spring Boot and/or Python
• Designing scalable cloud-native solutions on AWS or Azure
• Building REST APIs, microservices and distributed systems
• Working with Kubernetes and containerized applications
• CI/CD, automation, monitoring and logging
• Participating in code reviews, technical discussions and architectural decisions

Skills & Qualifications

We’re looking for someone with:

• At least 5 years of backend development experience
• Strong hands-on experience with Java
• Experience working with AWS and/or Azure
• Experience building customer-facing systems
• Fluent English communication skills
• BSc/MSc in Engineering, IT or a related field

Good to have:

• Experience with AWS serverless services such as Lambda and DynamoDB
• Experience with CI/CD and/or DevOps practices
• Previous experience with connected systems, IoT, automotive or telecom

The mindset we’re looking for

For us, being a great engineer is about more than technical skills.

We’re looking for people with a strong consulting mindset – people who understand that great consulting is about creating real value, taking ownership and being someone both the team and the client can rely on.

You’re highly skilled at what you do, but you’re also a doer who cares about quality. You don’t wait for someone else to solve the problem. You take initiative, move things forward and care about delivering work you can genuinely be proud of.

At the same time, you genuinely enjoy working with others. You communicate openly, share knowledge, contribute to a positive team dynamic and believe that the best results are created together.

You take responsibility for the bigger picture, stay solution-oriented and aren’t afraid to go the extra mile when it makes a difference. At the same time, you’re humble, genuine and enjoy working with people who challenge and support each other.

In short, we’re looking for engineers who want to go beyond – technically, professionally and as part of a team.

If this sounds like the kind of environment where you’d thrive, we’d love to hear from you.

Feel free to reach out to [email protected] or submit your application, and we’ll be happy to tell you more about the opportunities.
