JOB SUMMARY
The Weddings & Social Events Sales Manager is responsible for proactively generating and converting wedding, social, and special event business for the hotel through direct sales activities, field sales calls, relationship building, and strategic partnerships. The role focuses on maximizing revenue opportunities by securing local and international wedding business, social celebrations, and related group accommodation while ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction and adherence to brand standards.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
• High school diploma or GED; 2 years experience in the sales and marketing, guest services, front desk, or related professional.
OR
• 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; no work experience required.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales
- Proactively identify, solicit, and secure wedding and social event opportunities through field sales activities.
- Develop and maintain relationships with wedding planners, event organizers, corporate contacts, influencers, and key community partners.
- Conduct regular sales calls, site inspections, networking events, and client meetings to generate new business.
- Participate in local and international sales missions, trade shows, bridal exhibitions, and industry events.
- Generate leads and actively manage the sales pipeline to achieve revenue goals.
Account Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to encourage repeat business and referrals.
- Create and implement account development plans for key wedding and social event accounts.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to identify business opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions, opportunities, and sales activities within the CRM system.
Event Sales & Revenue Generation
- Respond to inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Prepare customized proposals, contracts, and presentations tailored to client requirements.
- Negotiate pricing and contract terms in accordance with hotel guidelines.
- Maximize revenue through strategic upselling of guestrooms, catering, banquet services, spa experiences, and additional hotel offerings.
- Achieve and exceed individual sales goals, event revenue targets, and market share objectives.
Collaboration & Event Execution
- Work closely with Catering, Events, Revenue Management, Marketing, and Operations teams to ensure successful event execution.
- Conduct detailed handovers of confirmed events to event operations teams.
- Support clients throughout the planning process to ensure a seamless customer experience.
- Assist with VIP weddings and high-profile social events as required.
Market Intelligence
- Analyze business trends and market demand within the wedding and social events segment.
- Maintain awareness of local wedding venues, competitors, and market developments.
- Provide regular market feedback and sales forecasts to management.
Providing Exceptional Customer Service
• Interacts effectively with sales, kitchen, vendors, competitors, local community, catering associations and other hotel departments in order to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Executes and supports the company’s Customer Service Standards and hotel’s Brand Standards.
• Executes exemplary customer service to drive customer satisfaction and loyalty by assisting the customer and ensuring their satisfaction before and during their program/event.
• Serves the customer by understanding their needs and recommending the appropriate features and services that best meet their needs and exceed their expectations, while building a relationship and loyalty to the company.
• Gains understanding of the hotel’s primary target customer and service expectations; serve the customer by understanding their business, business issues and concerns, to offer better business solution both prior to, and during the program/event.
• Develops a close working relationship with operations to ensure execution of strategies at the hotel level.
