We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Warehouse Operative to join our warehouse team in Carlisle.
This is a hands-on role where you will support the smooth running of our warehouse operation, helping with incoming goods, storage, stock management and despatch. You will play an important part in ensuring our customers receive an accurate, efficient and professional service.
The role is physically demanding and involves manual loading and unloading of stock onto and off trailers throughout the day, often for sustained periods of time.
As a Warehouse Operative, you will:
- Carry out goods-in, storage and despatch duties efficiently and accurately.
- Load, handle and unload stock and materials safely.
- Manually load and unload stock onto and off trailers throughout the day.
- Support safe, accurate and timely stock management.
- Carry out cycle counts, stock checks and stock takes.
- Help account managers with stock queries, inventory checks and query resolution.
- Maintain high standards of product quality and warehouse service.
- Follow all quality procedures, targets and operational processes.
- Comply with health, safety and environmental regulations, company policies and warehouse procedures.
- Carry out other reasonable duties as required by your line manager.
The successful candidate should be:
- Comfortable undertaking a physically active warehouse role involving manual handling, including the safe loading and unloading of stock throughout the working day.
- Able to carry out warehouse duties safely and effectively, with reasonable adjustments considered where appropriate.
- Accurate and attentive when handling stock.
- Committed to safe working practices and manual handling procedures.
- Flexible and willing to work overtime when required.
- Able to follow procedures and work to quality standards.
- A Counterbalance FLT licence is desirable, but not essential.
