Video Editor with Intuitive

VIDEO EDITOR (FULL-TIME)

We’re looking for a thoughtful, experienced Video Editor who understands that great editing is not just about making a video look good - it’s about making the message land.

At Intuitive Films, we create Videos Designed to Influence.

That means every edit has a job to do.

It brings clarity to ideas, finds the right moments, creates momentum, and helps an audience feel something.

It may need to build confidence in a brand.
Make a complex idea easier to understand.
Show stakeholders why an organisation matters.
Or move an audience towards a meaningful action.

We’re looking for a Video Editor with at least 3 years of professional experience who combines strong storytelling instincts with solid technical craft, and who understands how to turn business, brand and organisational messages into compelling films.

You should be someone who cares about the details and also understands the bigger picture: What are we trying to communicate, and how should the audience feel?

ABOUT INTUITIVE FILMS

At Intuitive Films, we create Videos Designed to Influence, helping organisations communicate ideas that matter through strategic storytelling and strong production craft.

For over 19 years, we’ve partnered with organisations across industries to produce films that inform, inspire and drive meaningful action.

We’re a small, focused team that believes in doing quality work.

Our culture is built on:

• Pursuing excellence

• Constantly growing

• Creating win-win-win outcomes

• Agile thinking with smart execution

• Being authentic

WHAT YOU’LL DO

You’ll work closely with our Directors, Producers and Motion Designers to turn strategy, scripts, interviews and footage into films that communicate clearly and influence effectively.

Editorial Storytelling
Find the story, not just the shots

• Edit corporate films, brand films, leadership stories, profile interviews, employer-branding content and campaign series

• Shape clear narrative structures from scripts, interviews and raw footage

• Identify the strongest moments, insights, performances and soundbites

• Distil complex information into stories audiences can follow

• Build pacing and emotional progression that supports the communication objective

• Create strong openings, transitions and endings that help the story land

• Maintain the right tone for corporate and institutional brands without making films feel corporate or generic

• Interpret consolidated client feedback thoughtfully

• Find creative solutions that address feedback while protecting the story

Creative & Visual Craft
Strong communication should still look and feel excellent

• Create edits with strong pacing, rhythm and visual flow

• Make thoughtful use of music, sound design and silence

• Select appropriate stock footage and supporting visuals where required

• Work comfortably with supers, subtitles, typography and simple motion graphics

• Perform basic colour correction and grading

• Handle basic audio clean-up and levelling

• Maintain high visual and technical standards throughout the edit

Creative Collaboration
Be part of the thinking, not just the execution

• Collaborate closely with Directors and Producers on storytelling approaches

• Participate in discussions about structure, music, tone and treatment

• Challenge ideas constructively when you see a better editorial solution

• Flag problems before they become expensive problems

• Work with motion designers, sound designers, colourists and other specialists when required

• Stay objective about your work and respond professionally to feedback

• Help raise the overall quality of the team's creative output

Post-Production Workflow
Creativity works better when the fundamentals are organised

• Manage multiple edits and deadlines responsibly

• Keep project files, footage, audio and graphics structured and organised

• Maintain disciplined sequence and version management

• Work efficiently with shared storage and collaborative workflows

• Prepare accurate masters and exports across different platforms and specifications

• Flag timeline or technical risks early

• Archive completed projects properly

• Maintain professional standards for file management and handovers

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

This role is ideal for someone with at least 3 years of professional editing experience in a production company, creative agency, content studio, media organisation or similar environment.

You are someone who:

• Has a strong portfolio demonstrating storytelling ability, not just visual effects or montage editing

• Is highly proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro

• Is comfortable with After Effects and Adobe Creative Cloud workflows

• Has strong instincts for structure, pacing, music and emotion

• Can confidently edit both scripted and interview-led content

• Has good visual taste without prioritising style over substance

• Can work across serious, emotional, inspirational and energetic tones

• Communicates clearly and professionally

• Can manage multiple projects and deadlines

• Takes feedback professionally and thinks before making changes

• Takes ownership of the quality of the final film

Most importantly: You understand that every editorial choice should serve the audience, the story and the communication objective.

WHAT A GREAT VIDEO EDITOR LOOKS LIKE HERE

The best Video Editors at Intuitive are people who:

• Think like storytellers, not software operators

• Can find a compelling story inside complicated material

• Know how to make corporate subjects feel human and engaging

• Notice the small details others miss

• Take ownership instead of waiting to be told what to fix

• Stay organised when several projects are moving simultaneously

• Continuously improve their taste, craft and understanding of storytelling

They care about whether the film actually works, not simply whether the edit is finished.

Over time, strong Video Editors here can take on greater creative responsibility, shaping editorial approaches, contributing earlier in creative development and helping define the storytelling standard of Intuitive Films.

WHY JOIN INTUITIVE FILMS

• Work on films for established organisations across a wide range of industries

• Tell stories involving leadership, transformation, people, infrastructure, innovation and social impact

• Collaborate closely with experienced Directors, Producers and Creatives

• Have a voice in the storytelling process

• Work in a small team where your contribution is visible and meaningful

• Continuous learning and development opportunities

• Even after 19 years, we’re still refining how we work and raising our creative standards
