UX/UI Designer I

Your impact:

Clearer.io is seeking an experienced UX/UI Designer I who can take full ownership of design outcomes, from problem definition to shipped product, to join our Product Design team.

This is a hands-on, high-autonomy role. You will be trusted to make design decisions, set the quality bar, and deliver polished, production-ready work with minimal supervision. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver designs that drive measurable user satisfaction and business success.

We are an AI-forward team. You will use AI as a core part of how you work, to move faster, explore more ideas, and raise the quality of what we ship.

• Own the end-to-end design of features and products, from discovery and user flows to high-fidelity UI and final implementation.

• Translate ambiguous business requirements into clear, well-reasoned design solutions, and confidently present and defend your decisions to stakeholders.

• Develop high-quality mockups and prototypes to communicate user flows, interactions, and proofs of concept.

• Partner with Product Managers and engineers throughout the development cycle. Deliver dev-ready specs.

• Proactively identify UX/UI problems in existing products, prioritize them by impact, and drive improvements without waiting to be assigned.

Design systems and visual design

• Lead the creation, maintenance, and evolution of design system components to ensure consistency and scalability across all products.

• Research and develop tailored design systems based on product requirements, whether for eCommerce websites, B2B applications, or other scopes.

• Design illustrations, icons, and AI-generated images that align with our product style and design system.

AI-powered design

• Use AI tools across the design process, from research synthesis and ideation to UI exploration, copywriting, and asset generation, to deliver higher-quality work in less time.

• Rapidly prototype ideas with AI-assisted tools (e.g., Figma AI, v0, Lovable, Cursor) to validate concepts before investing in full design.

• Identify opportunities to automate repetitive design tasks (e.g., component variants, documentation, localization) and build AI-powered workflows for the team.

• Design intuitive and trustworthy experiences for AI-powered features in our products (e.g., smart search, recommendations, content generation), including handling uncertainty, errors, and user control.

• Apply critical judgment to all AI-generated output, ensuring it meets our quality, brand, and accessibility standards before it ships.

Growth and team

• Stay current on design and AI trends, and propose innovative ideas for our applications and marketing websites.

• Raise the design bar across the team by giving constructive feedback, sharing best practices and AI tools, and mentoring other designers when needed.

• 3+ years of professional experience in product design and UX/UI, including at least 1 years designing web applications for SaaS/PaaS or B2B products.

• A proven track record of shipping products end-to-end. Your portfolio includes 2-3 in-depth case studies showing the problem, your process, the trade-offs you made, and the results you achieved.

• Experience building a design system from scratch or leading the scaling of an existing one, including component architecture, documentation, and engineering handoff.

• Hands-on experience using AI tools in a professional design workflow, with concrete examples of how they improved your speed, output, or product quality.

• Strong judgment about when AI helps and when it doesn't, and awareness of its limitations, including accuracy, bias, intellectual property, and data privacy.

• Expert-level proficiency in Figma (Components, Variants, Auto Layout, Responsive Design, prototyping).

• Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite for graphic and UI asset creation.

• Deep understanding of user-centered design principles, best practices, and inclusive design.

• Working knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and experience applying them in real products.

• The ability to work autonomously, manage multiple projects at once, and deliver high-quality results on schedule.

• Strong stakeholder management: you align differing opinions, push back with reasoning, and drive decisions forward.

• A meticulous eye for detail and a high personal standard for quality.

• A curious, experimental mindset: you keep up with the fast-moving AI landscape and are eager to try new tools.

• Strong written and spoken English to collaborate with global, cross-functional teams across time zones and cultures.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Nice to have

• Experience designing for eCommerce platforms or merchant-facing apps.

• Experience designing UX for AI/ML-powered features (e.g., conversational interfaces, recommendations, generative features).

• Experience with prompt engineering or building custom AI workflows, agents, or plugins for design tasks.

• Basic understanding of HTML/CSS and front-end constraints.

eCommerce is crowded, noisy and increasingly complex. At clearer.io, we're built for a different outcome: clarity you can act on.

We connect to the stack a merchant already uses. Our AI agents enrich their catalogue, learn from their reviews and customers, and put that intelligence to work inside the tools they already own — so their products get found, trusted and chosen by shoppers and AI, without replatforming. We do this across our products: Clearer, Boost Commerce, REVIEWS.io and Influence, used by thousands of merchants worldwide.

We're a global team with offices in Australia, the UK, Germany, Vietnam and the US, backed for the long term by PSG Equity and Silversmith Capital Partners.

We care about doing the work properly: listening first, building second and shipping quickly where it matters. Results matter more than rhetoric.

What guides us day to day:

• Customers at the heart: we obsess over their needs so we can grow together

• Purposeful progress: we don't settle - we take initiative and embrace bold thinking

• Endless innovation: we refine, improve, and take meaningful action

• Always open: we build trust through transparency and global collaboration
