Senior Unity (VR) Developer

Join Our Team as a Senior Unity (VR) Developer at Beyond Sports

If you’re someone who is passionate about immersive technology, loves solving complex technical challenges in Unity, and wants to build the next generation of digital sports engagement, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

What Your Day Will Look Like

As a Senior Unity (VR) Developer at Beyond Sports, you’ll play a key role in building and evolving our core product, our VR Commentator solution used by leading sports organisations to create real-time digital content.

You’ll collaborate closely with developers and artists, taking ownership of key parts of our Unity applications to ensure they are robust, performant, and scalable for global use. Alongside developing and improving platform features, you’ll also contribute to our growing focus on immersive technologies such as VR.

You’ll support and motivate your colleagues, share knowledge, and help drive best practices. Whether you’re debugging asynchronous processes, optimising data structures, or improving system architecture, you’ll be shaping how we bring sports data to life.

What We Value

At Beyond Sports, we move fast, aim high, and never settle. We believe in creativity, technical excellence, and ownership, giving you the freedom to innovate while supporting you with a team that’s as passionate as you are.

You’ll fit right in if you:

• Love building interactive experiences and have a strong eagerness to learn and grow

• Are collaborative and open-minded — you enjoy introducing new ideas and approaches

• Possess strong logical skills — you rely on solid data structures and technical design

• Take initiative — you are comfortable working independently and owning your work

• Enjoy sharing knowledge — you actively support and guide other developers

This role is based on-site at our Alkmaar office (40 hours per week). You’ll need to be living in the Netherlands (or willing to move) and eligible to work in the EU.

Tech Stack and Skill Requirements

You don’t need to tick every box, but here’s what we’re looking for:

• 3+ years of professional experience working with Unity3D

• Strong knowledge of C# development

• Solid experience with asynchronous programming and debugging

• Proficiency with GIT or similar version control systems

• Bachelor (HBO) level working and thinking capability

Nice to have:

• Experience working on performance-critical or real-time applications

• Familiarity with immersive technologies such as VR or AR (or interest in learning)

• Knowledge of OpenXR or similar frameworks
