Brief Summary

Join a specialised reinsurance team in a technical accounting role focused on treaty reinsurance contracts, premium calculations and post-placement accounting operations. You will serve as a key technical resource, supporting process improvements, guiding offshore teams and ensuring accurate and timely processing across treaty accounting activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform technical accounting activities for treaty reinsurance contracts, including complex adjustments and technical premium calculations.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies between system data and treaty contract wording to ensure accurate accounting and processing.
• Respond to technical queries from processing teams and external stakeholders relating to invoice processing, premium calculations and reconciliations.
• Prepare and maintain detailed working sheets to support accurate data entry, invoice processing and statement issuance.
• Assist in developing, reviewing and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions for operational processes.
• Identify process gaps and recommend improvements to enhance workflow efficiency, accuracy and control.
• Deliver technical training to onshore and offshore teams on processes, systems and technical accounting requirements.
• Act as a key technical point of contact for offshore colleagues, providing guidance on complex cases and operational issues.
• Monitor the quality and timeliness of offshore deliverables, working collaboratively with the team to address issues and maintain service standards.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure consistency and accuracy across technical accounting processes.
• Provide regular updates on work progress, operational issues and potential risks to relevant stakeholders.
• Promote knowledge sharing and effective collaboration within the team and across functions.

Requirements

• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in treaty reinsurance technical accounting.
• In-depth knowledge of treaty reinsurance contracts, technical premium calculations and related operational processes.
• Experience with reinsurance technical accounting systems; willingness to develop into a subject matter expert in relevant systems is essential.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong documentation skills, including the ability to develop and maintain clear SOPs and work instructions.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to different stakeholders.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with experience handling financial data, calculations and reconciliations.
• Collaborative and solution-oriented, with the ability to work effectively with onshore and offshore teams.
• Able to manage priorities, resolve operational issues and maintain high standards of accuracy and timeliness.
