Test Automation Engineer

Nordic Investin has been engaged by a partner company to find a Test Automation Engineer. You enjoy building fast, trustworthy feedback that helps engineers release more often with less guesswork.

The partner is improving quality engineering across web services and APIs. You will develop automated tests, strengthen testability and work with developers to move defect discovery earlier without creating a brittle test estate.

The team works across disciplines and expects quality to be shaped throughout discovery and delivery. You will have space to challenge assumptions, make evidence visible and improve how decisions are made.

How you will work

You will join multidisciplinary delivery rather than operate as a final approval step. The partner expects early questions, rapid feedback and clear evidence about what users and systems need. You will help teams decide what to test, measure or prototype before committing to an expensive direction.

You will receive meaningful ownership while working with senior colleagues on the most consequential decisions. The partner expects you to deliver independently within a clear area, ask for context early and contribute ideas grounded in what you observe. There is room to deepen your specialism or broaden toward adjacent responsibilities.

What you will do

• Build automated API, integration and user journey tests.

• Develop test utilities, fixtures and reliable test data.

• Integrate quality checks into CI CD pipelines.

• Investigate flaky tests and remove their underlying causes.

• Contribute to performance and resilience testing.

• Help teams choose the right test level for each risk.

What you will bring

• Professional test automation or software development experience.

• Ability in Java, C sharp, Python or TypeScript.

• Experience with API and browser automation tools.

• Good understanding of CI CD and version control.

• Structured defect investigation and communication.

• Professional English and a collaborative quality mindset.

Experience that would add value

• Contract testing or service virtualisation.

• Performance testing at realistic load.

• Experience moving from manual to automated quality practices.

A background that can succeed here

You may be a developer who specialised in quality or a tester who developed strong coding skills. We value engineers who improve the system of delivery rather than simply increasing the number of test cases.

What makes the opportunity interesting

You will influence architecture, pipelines and team habits, not only a separate test phase. The role offers varied technical work and outcomes that show up in faster feedback and more confident releases.

The exact partner, employment model, compensation, start date and working arrangement will be explained openly during the process. Nordic Investin will make sure you understand the context, expectations and decision path before you are asked to commit significant time.

The recruitment conversation

During the process, Nordic Investin will focus on concrete decisions you have made: the context you received, the alternatives you considered, the result you observed and what you would change today. You do not need every optional technology if your core experience transfers and you can explain how you would close the gap.

How to apply

Apply with your CV or LinkedIn profile and a short note describing the most relevant system, product or transformation you have helped deliver. Nordic Investin welcomes candidates with different routes into technology and assesses applicants on relevant capability, judgement and potential.
