Technology Architect, Cloud, Compute & Infrastructure

Shape the future technology landscape at Tre

Tre is strengthening its architecture function to support major transformation initiatives across Sweden and Denmark.

We are modernising our technology landscape, investing in cloud, AI, digital capabilities and long-term architecture to support future growth.

As part of this journey, we're looking for a Technology Architect, Cloud, Compute & Infrastructure who wants to help shape the future of one of the Nordic region's leading telecom operators.

Cloud, infrastructure automation and resilient platforms are essential to Tre's future technology landscape. In this role, you will define and govern the architecture direction for cloud, compute and infrastructure capabilities across Sweden and Denmark.

You will help Tre make effective, secure and sustainable decisions about cloud adoption, workload placement, platform modernisation and infrastructure strategy.

About our architecture community
At Tre, architecture is evolving into a stronger advisory capability with greater influence across business and technology.

Our architects help create clarity, guide strategic decisions and connect long-term direction with practical execution. You will work alongside Enterprise Architects, Domain Architects, Technology Architects, engineering teams and senior leaders to shape the future technology landscape across Sweden and Denmark.

This is an opportunity to join a growing architecture community with increasing impact on technology strategy, transformation initiatives and business outcomes.

About the role
As our Technology Architect, Cloud, Compute & Infrastructure, you will own the architecture direction for Tre's cloud and infrastructure capabilities across Sweden and Denmark.

You will define target architectures, standards and reusable patterns for cloud platforms, compute, hosting, containers, automation and workload placement.

Working closely with platform engineering, security, architects and engineering teams, you will help create scalable, resilient and cost-efficient platforms that support Tre's future technology landscape.

What you'll do

In this role, you will:

• Define and evolve Tre's cloud and infrastructure strategy and roadmap.
• Establish principles for cloud adoption, workload placement and platform governance.
• Define architecture direction for Azure, hybrid cloud, containers and infrastructure platforms.
• Establish reusable Infrastructure as Code, automation and platform patterns.
• Drive modernisation, migration and legacy retirement initiatives.
• Define requirements for resilience, disaster recovery and operational readiness.
• Collaborate with Security, IAM, platform engineering and DevSecOps teams.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and provide architecture recommendations.

You can look forward to:

• Owning one of Tre's most important cross-functional technology capabilities.
• Shaping cloud and infrastructure strategy across Sweden and Denmark.
• Influencing cloud adoption, automation and platform modernisation.
• Working closely with cloud, platform engineering and security teams.
• Creating reusable platforms and paved roads that improve delivery speed and quality.
• Being part of a growing architecture function with increasing strategic influence.

Mats describes himself as a leader:
"I believe great architects create clarity rather than complexity. We provide advisory and 'marriage counseling' for IT and Business. I value curiosity, accountability and collaboration, and I encourage people to challenge established ways of working when there is a better path forward. My role as a leader is to provide direction, remove obstacles and create an environment where people can have real impact and grow in their area of expertise."

We believe you have

Must-have:

• Extensive experience in cloud, infrastructure or technology architecture.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure and hybrid cloud architectures.
• Experience defining cloud or infrastructure target architectures and roadmaps.
• Experience with Kubernetes, containers and infrastructure automation.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automated provisioning.
• Strong understanding of resilience, disaster recovery and operational readiness.
• Strong stakeholder-management and communication skills in English.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience from telecom or another large regulated environment.
• Experience leading cloud or infrastructure transformation initiatives.
• Understanding of DevSecOps, CI/CD and platform engineering.
• Knowledge of NIS2 and infrastructure security requirements.
• Azure, Kubernetes or architecture certifications.

Who you are

We're looking for someone who:

• Thinks strategically while remaining pragmatic.
• Creates clarity in complex environments.
• Builds strong relationships across business and technology.
• Understands the balance between innovation and sustainable platform design.
• Makes thoughtful trade-offs between resilience, security, operability and cost.
• Is curious, proactive and driven by continuous improvement.

You are comfortable challenging legacy assumptions while understanding operational realities and migration constraints. You believe in automation, reusable platforms and enablement rather than one-off solutions.
