Technology Application and Vendor Manager

Job ID: 5953

At Nordea, technology powers everything we do. Within our Markets Technology organisation, we deliver and support critical trading platforms that enable equity trading, regulatory reporting, and client services across the Nordic markets.

We are now looking for a Technology Application & Vendor Manager to join our Equities Technology organisation.

This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys combining financial management, vendor governance, operational oversight, and strategic portfolio management in a business-critical technology environment.

You will work closely with technology leaders, vendors, finance partners, and application owners to help ensure our organisation operates efficiently, remains compliant, and delivers on its commitments.

About our team

You will become part of the Equities Technology organisation, supporting a portfolio of applications used across Retail, Corporate, and Institutional Trading.

Our landscape includes both SaaS (Software as a Service) and on-premises platforms supporting trade execution, market connectivity, and regulatory reporting. The organisation works closely with front-office stakeholders and operates in a highly regulated environment where operational excellence, governance, and financial discipline are essential.

As a central point of coordination across vendors, budgets, compliance activities, and application governance, you will play a key role in helping the organisation run effectively and transparently.

As a Technology Application & Vendor Manager, you will be responsible for driving governance, financial oversight, and vendor management across our application portfolio.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing relationships with strategic technology vendors and service providers
• Maintaining and coordinating vendor agreements, renewals, and contractual obligations
• Working closely with procurement, finance, and technology stakeholders
• Tracking technology spend, invoices, and forecasted costs across the organisation
• Reviewing and approving invoices while ensuring alignment with budgets and contracts
• Establishing transparency around costs, commitments, and future financial obligations
• Maintaining oversight of the application portfolio and supporting portfolio governance processes
• Monitoring application compliance requirements and ensuring follow-up on regulatory, audit, and control activities in collaboration with development leaders
• Following up on remediation of findings, risks, and improvement initiatives together with application owners and technology teams
• Supporting budget planning, forecasting, and financial reporting activities
• Preparing management reporting, governance materials, and portfolio insights for stakeholders and leadership teams
• Helping drive operational discipline, accountability, and continuous improvement across the organisation

Who you are

• You are highly organised, commercially minded, and comfortable operating across both business and technology domains.
• You enjoy bringing structure to complex environments and are skilled at coordinating multiple stakeholders while keeping track of budgets, risks, contracts, and deliverables.
• You take ownership, follow through on commitments, and can balance attention to detail with a broader understanding of organisational priorities.
• Most importantly, you enjoy being the person who creates transparency, ensures accountability, and helps the organisation deliver on its objectives.

Your experience and background

We imagine that you have:

• Experience working with vendor management, financial governance, or business management
• Experience managing budgets, forecasts, invoices, and cost reporting
• Strong coordination and stakeholder management skills
• Experience supporting governance, compliance, audit, or risk-related activities
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work across technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience working with multiple stakeholders in a complex environment
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

It would be ideal if you also:

• Have experience working within financial services or capital markets
• Understand technology vendor management and software licensing models
• Have experience supporting application portfolios or technology organisations
• Have worked with regulatory, audit, or compliance processes
• Have exposure to project portfolio management or technology governance frameworks
• Possess strong Excel and reporting skills and experience working with financial data

What we offer

We offer:

• A highly visible role with broad organisational exposure
• The opportunity to influence vendor strategy, financial management, and governance processes
• Close collaboration with senior leaders, technology teams, and strategic partners
• A dynamic environment supporting critical trading and reporting platforms
• Opportunities for personal and professional development
• Flexible working arrangements and a strong focus on work-life balance
• An inclusive culture built on Collaboration, Ownership, Passion, and Courage
