About us
Oligo is a fast-growing cybersecurity startup transforming how organizations protect their applications, cloud environments, and AI systems at runtime. Backed by top-tier investors including Greenfield Partners, Red Dot Capital Partners, Lightspeed, Ballistic Ventures, and TLV Partners, we're on a mission to make real-time security a reality.
Oligo's industry's leading runtime security platform built to stop attacks in real time without stopping the business. We transform security from passive visibility to active protection across applications, cloud services, workloads, and AI systems. By uncovering the deepest layers of what actually runs in production, Oligo helps organizations prioritize exploitable vulnerabilities, detect malicious behavior as it happens, and stop modern attacks in their tracks.
We're looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer to serve as the deep technical partner for our largest and most strategic accounts. You'll be working closely with our dev, product, and support teams, while building strong, trust-based relationships with customers' security engineers and executives alike. This is a hands-on, highly technical role for someone who can go deep into a customer's environment, infrastructure, and tech stack, and who's comfortable both in the weeds with engineers and in the room with executives.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for our largest and most strategic accounts
- Build deep, trust-based relationships with customers’ security engineers, platform teams, and CISOs by developing a thorough understanding of their workflows, teams, infrastructure, and tech stack
- Own complex deployments end to end, from architecture design through rollout across large production estates
- Build and ship inside the customer’s environment - custom integrations, automation, and tooling that close the gap between what Oligo does out of the box and what the customer actually needs
- Author and tune runtime policies for customer-specific workloads, traffic patterns, and risk tolerance
- Design and deliver integrations into customer SIEM, SOAR, data lake, and CI/CD pipelines
- Debug at the systems level - sensor behavior, performance overhead, kernel and runtime interactions - and drive root cause together with R&D
- Support deployments in regulated and air-gapped environments, including FedRAMP-authorized
- Travel to customer sites to strengthen relationships and support technical initiatives on the ground
- Work hand-in-hand with our dev, product, and support teams in Israel to advocate for customer needs and drive resolution of technical issues
- Turn repeat field work into product - feed reusable deployment patterns, tooling, and reference architectures back to R&D so the next deployment is faster than the last
- Translate deep technical detail into business impact for executive stakeholders
- Proactively identify risks and opportunities within accounts, partnering with Customer Success and Sales on account strategy
Requirements
Qualifications
- Solid, hands-on background in cybersecurity, with specific experience in runtime security
- Deep understanding of how workloads run across container runtimes (Docker, containerd, Podman), orchestrated environments (Kubernetes, OpenShift), and non-containerized hosts (VMs, bare metal) - enough to independently customize, deploy, test, and troubleshoot Oligo’s solution in each
- Strong Linux fundamentals - processes, namespaces, cgroups, syscalls - and familiarity with eBPF or other kernel-level instrumentation
- Proficiency in at least one of Python, Go, or Bash, and comfort reading code in customer application stacks such as Java, Node.js, Python, or Go
- Hands-on experience with deployment and GitOps tooling (Helm, ArgoCD, FluxCD) and with Kubernetes distributions such as OpenShift, EKS, GKE, and AKS
- Strong SQL skills and comfort analyzing dense datasets across logs, metrics, and relational databases
- Experience with sensor-based security tooling and CADR (Cloud Application Detection and Response)
- Comfort debugging live production systems under pressure, without disrupting them
- Experience in a customer-facing technical role at a cybersecurity company - Forward Deployed Engineer, TAM, Solutions Engineer, or similar - or equivalent hands-on engineering experience with direct customer exposure
- Experience working with enterprise or large-scale customer environments, including global organizations
- Proven ability to build trust and credibility with technical stakeholders, alongside strong executive communication skills - comfortable presenting to and engaging with senior leadership
- Based in Israel, ideally near our technical teams (dev, product, support), with willingness to travel to customer sites and to overlap with US working hours as needed
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Nice to Have
- Background in software engineering, DevOps, or SRE prior to moving into a customer-facing role
- eBPF, kernel, or low-level systems development experience
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Terraform)
- Working knowledge of cloud networking and security controls - egress paths, proxies, TLS inspection, private endpoints, and IAM
- Experience integrating security tooling with SIEM, SOAR, or observability platforms (Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, Datadog, Coralogix, Grafana)
- Experience with regulated, air-gapped, or FedRAMP environments
- Open source contributions in the cloud-native or security ecosystem
- Exposure to AI and LLM workloads and the security considerations around them
