Salary: $165,000 – $175,000 per year
This is an opportunity for an experienced C#/.NET engineer who wants more than simply delivering tickets and closing features.
The role combines hands-on engineering, technical leadership and AI-assisted software development. You’ll stay close to the code while having genuine influence over how software is designed, built and delivered.
The organisation is significantly increasing its use of AI across the software engineering lifecycle, giving engineers the opportunity to experiment with modern AI tools and approaches to accelerate development, improve quality and solve problems more effectively.
You don’t need to be an AI specialist. What matters is strong engineering fundamentals, curiosity and a genuine interest in how AI can improve the way software is built.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll take ownership of complex features from technical design through to implementation, delivery and ongoing improvement within a modern C#/.NET environment.
Design and build complex, customer-facing functionality
Contribute to architecture, system design and technical decisions
Take end-to-end ownership of features and solutions
Use AI-powered development tools to improve productivity and engineering outcomes
Explore where AI can add genuine value to development and product delivery
Maintain high standards of quality, reliability, security and maintainability
Provide technical leadership through code reviews, mentoring and collaboration
Help shape engineering practices and technical direction
Work closely with Product and Design to turn customer needs into scalable solutions
Challenge assumptions and take ownership of problems
This is not a people-management role. It’s for someone who enjoys being a senior technical contributor and leading through knowledge, influence and example.
AI is changing how the team engineers
The organisation is making a significant investment in AI and sees it as an important part of the future of software development.
You’ll have the opportunity to experiment with AI-enabled development approaches, learn new tools and help shape how they are used effectively within a professional engineering environment.
Whether you already use tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude or other AI coding assistants, or you’re simply excited about where AI is taking software development, there is plenty of opportunity to build your capability.
Strong engineering fundamentals still matter — but the way those fundamentals are applied is changing.
What they’re looking for
You’ll ideally bring:
Strong commercial experience building production systems with C#/.NET
Experience owning complex features, systems or technical problems
Experience contributing to architecture, system design or technical direction
The ability to lead through influence rather than authority
Strong software engineering fundamentals and pragmatic problem-solving skills
A collaborative approach and willingness to mentor others
A genuine interest in AI and its impact on software engineering
Curiosity and a willingness to experiment with new tools and approaches
You don’t need to be an AI engineer. What matters is having the engineering capability and curiosity to embrace AI and help determine where it can add real value.
