About the Role
Put your tax expertise at the centre of investment decision-making.
Join QIC’s tax team in Brisbane Head Office and advise on domestic and international transactions, investment structures and strategic projects across a global investment platform. This is a 12-month Brisbane based contract opportunity where you will partner directly with Investment teams and other specialists across QIC. Reporting to the Tax Counsel you will take ownership of complex tax matters and deliver practical, commercially focused advice. You will be joining a collaborative, high-performing team where sound judgement, clear communication and an ability to manage competing priorities are valued.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner directly with Investment teams, contributing to strategic and commercially significant decisions.
- Provide tax advice across Australian and international investments, including transaction structuring, acquisition due diligence, implementation and ongoing asset management matters.
- Gain broad exposure to QIC’s investment products, asset classes and domestic and international structures.
- Work with experienced tax, investment, finance and other specialists, as well as leading external advisers.
- Translate complex tax issues into clear, practical recommendations for senior stakeholders.
- Support Investment and Corporate teams in achieving commercial objectives while operating within QIC's tax risk framework.
- Contribute to tax governance, risk management and compliance initiatives across the business.
About You
You are a commercially minded tax professional who enjoys solving complex problems, building relationships and partnering with stakeholders to influence outcomes.
You will bring:
- Experience gained in a Big 4 accounting firm, or a large financial services or investment management organisation.
- Strong experience advising on the tax implications and structuring of domestic and international investments.
- Tertiary qualifications in commerce, accounting or law, together with CA/CPA membership or a relevant postgraduate tax qualification.
- Strong commercial judgement, problem-solving and organisational skills.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication capabilities.
- The ability to quickly understand investment products, asset, fund and entity structures.
