Company Overview
Metrea delivers effects-as-a-service to national security partners across five domains and more than a dozen mission areas. These include airborne ISR, electronic warfare, secure communications, aerial refueling, special air missions, aerial firefighting, and advanced simulation. We own the whole stack: designing, building, and operating turnkey capabilities that give our partners decisive, asymmetric advantage against rapidly evolving threats.
Our operating model is built around three interlocking pillars. The Support Groups provide a global shared-service – spanning people, finance, platform, operations, legal, and engagement. This frees up our Core Groups, who develop and own mission capabilities end-to-end, to focus entirely on delivery. The Market Groups apply a regional lens, ensuring that our agile and adaptable capabilities remain aligned to the wicked problems that matter most to our partners across the Americas, EMEA, and Asia-Pacific.
At the heart of our model is a simple but powerful idea: be a true partner with skin in the game. Our partners need effects, not just equipment. By owning the full stack – from the lab to the field – we are able to drive a continuous cycle of innovation that keeps our partners ahead. It's a fast-moving, intellectually demanding environment where talented people are given real responsibility, work on problems that matter, and contribute to an enterprise that is growing quickly and deliberately.
Headquartered in Washington, DC, with facilities across the United States, the United Kingdom, as well as Continental Europe and Asia-Pacific.
Group Overview
Metrea delivers effects-as-a-service to national security partners across five domains and more than a dozen mission areas — including airborne ISR, electronic warfare, secure communications, aerial refuelling, special mission aviation, aerial firefighting, and advanced simulation.
Metrea is actively building its presence in Australia as part of a deliberate, globally coordinated expansion into the Asia-Pacific region. Our Asia-Pacific Market Group, headquartered in Brisbane with an additional office in Perth, is the enterprise's dedicated regional interface connecting Australia's national security community with Metrea's full suite of capabilities across three core domains: Aerospace, Electromagnetic & Cyber, and Digital & Synthetic. Metrea is now bringing that same depth of mission expertise and proven operating model to Australia.
Underpinning these capabilities is a global network of Support Groups spanning people, finance, platform, operations, legal, and engagement; ensuring that as we grow in Australia, we do so with the full weight of an established global enterprise behind us.
Metrea's solutions are built for elegance: effective, efficient, and evolving — enabling our partners to scale capacity and achieve asymmetric advantage against rapidly evolving threats.
Position Summary
The Talent Partner – Workforce Programs & Pipelines is responsible for building and converting the talent pipelines required to support our growing workforce across Australia and, over time, the broader APAC region.
Working closely with and supporting our Lead Aviation Recruiter, this role will have a particular focus on the significant and recurring recruitment requirements across our pilot, aircrew and broader aviation workforce.
You will support the delivery of aviation recruitment campaigns while looking beyond today's vacancies to identify where our future talent will come from. You will build and nurture talent communities, develop sustainable workforce pathways and establish external partnerships that enable us to engage critical talent well before a vacancy needs to be filled.
You will spend time in the market connecting with aviation and Defence communities, attending industry events, developing veteran and Indigenous employment pathways, identifying new talent sources and building relationships with organisations that can connect us with the capability we need.
This is a hands-on recruitment role requiring someone who can move comfortably between recruitment delivery, proactive sourcing, candidate engagement, recruitment campaigns and longer-term workforce pipeline development.
What You'll Do
Aviation Recruitment & Campaign Delivery
You will:
- Work closely with the Lead Aviation Recruiter to support the delivery of pilot, aircrew and broader aviation recruitment requirements
- Support the development and execution of scalable recruitment campaigns for significant and recurring aviation workforce requirements
- Manage defined recruitment activity and candidate pipelines as part of broader aviation hiring campaigns
- Build and actively manage evergreen pilot, aircrew and other critical aviation talent pools and expressions of interest
- Proactively identify, source and engage aviation talent, including candidates who may not be actively seeking their next opportunity
- Develop and maintain relationships with prospective candidates over longer recruitment horizons to support future workforce requirements
- Support candidate screening, assessment and progression through recruitment campaigns in partnership with the Lead Aviation Recruiter and hiring leaders
- Manage significant candidate volumes while maintaining a high-quality and personalised candidate experience
- Support broader recruitment priorities across the Talent team during periods of increased demand
Talent Pipelines & Partnerships
You will:
- Build sustainable external talent pipelines aligned with current and future aviation and broader workforce requirements
- Develop strong networks across pilot, aircrew, aviation and Defence talent communities
- Develop relationships with veteran and Defence transition organisations to create pathways for people moving from Defence into civilian employment
- Identify and develop meaningful Indigenous employment and talent partnerships
- Establish relationships across aviation, Defence, education, training and relevant industry communities
- Represent the organisation at aviation industry events, careers fairs, networking activities and other talent-focused forums
- Explore partnerships with aviation training organisations, universities, TAFEs and other education providers where relevant to future capability
- Develop targeted talent communities for critical and recurring skillsets
- Identify opportunities for referral, pathway and targeted attraction campaigns
- Develop a strong understanding of where critical talent exists and how we can effectively engage it
Workforce Intelligence & Future Capability
You will:
- Work with the Lead Aviation Recruiter, People team and business leaders to understand future workforce demand and translate this into proactive talent pipeline activity

- Monitor pipeline strength and identify areas where future talent supply may not meet forecast demand
- Provide market intelligence on talent availability, competitor activity and emerging workforce trends
- Use recruitment data to understand pipeline conversion, source effectiveness and recruitment outcomes
- Continually test new sourcing channels, partnerships and approaches to improve access to aviation and other critical talent
- Help develop scalable recruitment and pipeline approaches that can be replicated across APAC as our regional footprint grows
What You Bring
- Demonstrated experience in talent acquisition, ideally within aviation or a closely related specialist workforce environment
- Experience supporting high-volume, campaign-based or recurring workforce recruitment
- Experience recruiting pilots, aircrew, aviation or other specialist operational talent would be highly regarded
- Strong proactive sourcing and talent-pipelining capability, with the ability to identify and engage passive talent

- An understanding of aviation talent markets, industry networks and workforce dynamics would be highly advantageous
- The confidence and energy to build relationships externally and represent us within aviation, Defence and other relevant industry communities
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
- A proactive and curious approach—you naturally look beyond the immediate vacancy to understand where future talent will come from
- Strong organisational capability and the ability to manage significant candidate volumes and multiple recruitment activities concurrently

Our Firmware
At Metrea, our single core value is Rooted in Humility, and our four cornerstone attributes are Entrepreneurial, Systematic, Discerning, and Over-Deliver. These form what we call our Teammate Firmware. Just like technical firmware connects software and hardware, our Firmware is the constant interface between our mission and our people. It defines how we show up, how we work together, and how we solve complex problems.
Our team Firmware creates a web-like, hyper-collaborative, dynamically hierarchical way of working that helps us adapt quickly, communicate openly, and distribute decision-making to where expertise actually lives. It enables groups to self-organize around hard problems, shift fluidly as priorities evolve, and operate with the trust, curiosity, and discipline required in a complex mission space. This foundation allows us to deliver elegant, effective solutions and uphold our purpose: protecting our precious inheritance.
