About the role
We have an opportunity for a Systems Administrator to be part of our Service Management Office, Technology and Communication Services Command team. The Systems Administrator supports service delivery to the organisation in the management of IT computer systems.

This is a unique opportunity to lead and shape an enterprise Problem Management practice, driving root cause elimination, continual service improvement, and data driven operational excellence at scale
• Lead the Problem Management practice across NSWPF complex enterprise technology environment.
• Drive the identification, investigation and elimination of root causes impacting critical business services.
• Act as Major Incident Manager backup
• Partner with technical teams, vendors, service owners and senior stakeholders to reduce recurring incidents and improve service resilience.
• Develop and implement proactive problem identification techniques using operational data, trend analysis and service intelligence.
• Influence strategic technology and operational decisions through actionable insights and evidence-based recommendations.
• Champion a culture of continual improvement, accountability and operational excellence across technology teams.
• Drive improvements in service stability through effective management of known errors, corrective actions and preventative measures.
• Collaborate closely with Incident, Change, Release and Service Management functions to improve end-to-end service outcomes.
• Provide leadership and governance for problem investigations involving complex or high-impact service disruptions.
• Opportunity to shape NSWPF enterprise-wide service reliability initiatives and contribute directly to improved customer and business outcomes.
• Hold or be working towards advanced service management qualifications and demonstrate experience applying modern service management, risk management and continual improvement practices in a complex operational environment.
• Experience establishing or maturing an enterprise Problem Management practice.
• Experience using ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow
• Experience applying Lean, Six Sigma, Kepner-Tregoe (KT) or Continuous Improvement methodologies to reduce recurring incidents and improve service reliability.
• Experience within a highly regulated, large-scale operational environment where service availability and risk management are critical
• While this role is primarily focused on Problem Management, candidates with a background in Incident or Major Incident Management will be well positioned to drive proactive service improvements, reduce recurring incidents and improve overall service reliability across the enterprise.
