System Engineer Day 2

About the role

Software System Engineer to support Day 2 operations, maintenance, and enhancement activities for IT Project. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the stability, reliability, security, and operational readiness of mission-critical systems in a 24/7 operational environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide Day 2 operational support for mission-critical applications and platform services

• Perform incident investigation, troubleshooting, root cause analysis (RCA), and issue resolution

• Support production deployment activities, rollback activities, and post-deployment verification

• Monitor system health, application performance, logs, and operational alerts

• Work closely with Day 1 support teams, infrastructure teams, software developers, cybersecurity teams, and project stakeholders

• Support system recovery, disaster recovery (DR), and business continuity activities

• Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines

• Deploy, configure, and manage containerized applications using Docker, Podman, and Kubernetes

• Maintain middleware and application platform configurations and support Linux and Windows server environments

• Configure and maintain monitoring dashboards, alerts, and health checks

About you

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related disciplines

• Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience in software system engineering, DevOps engineering, application support, production support, or platform/system administration

• Strong knowledge of Linux administration, application deployment and troubleshooting, CI/CD pipeline implementation, and container technologies and orchestration

• Hands-on experience with GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, and Git

• Experience in scripting and automation using Bash, Python, PowerShell, or Shell scripting

• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as eG Enterprise, Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios, or Zabbix

• Understanding of database technologies including SQL databases and NoSQL databases

• Understanding of secure system hardening, cybersecurity best practices, vulnerability management, secure CI/CD practices, and certificate and secret management

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, good communication and stakeholder management abilities

• Ability to work independently and under pressure with strong teamwork and collaboration mindset
