The Allegro team is united by a clear purpose—advancing technologies that make the world safer, more efficient, and more sustainable. With over 30 years of experience in semiconductor innovation, we bring that purpose to life across every part of the business—from breakthrough product development and customer success to how we show up for each other and the communities we serve.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated, high-performing R&D Technician /Jr. Engineer to join our Greenhouse Innovation Team. This is a unique opportunity for a curious, hands-on professional who wants to go beyond standard testing to truly understand the silicon and systems you validate, while continuously learning and developing new engineering skills. You will be a key partner in the rapid prototyping and validation of next-generation Allegro technologies, contributing to innovation by translating rapid experiments into clear, data-driven insights that shape design decisions. This role is ideal for someone with an engineering mindset who thrives in fast-moving environments, offering a clear path to grow your career and broaden your impact over time.
What You Will Do
Partner with engineers on initial hardware bring-up and debug. Go beyond standard test execution by deeply investigating device performance to identify the “why” behind the results and uncover the root causes of complex technical challenges.
Support fast-moving, diverse projects by providing hands-on microelectronics assembly, board bring-up, and test execution.
Perform precision soldering and assembly of custom evaluation boards, load boards, and interface circuitry for test and product validation.
Assist in PCB and interface-circuit design; use coding/scripting (Python or MATLAB) to automate data collection and improve characterization efficiency while collaborating with engineers whenever needed.
Take ownership of the lab environment, ensuring benches, equipment, and storage areas are organized and meet Allegro’s high standards for safety and efficiency.
Collaborate with the on-site team to ensure benches, cutting-edge equipment, and storage areas meet Allegro’s high standards for safety, calibration, and world-class R&D efficiency.
What You Will Need
Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree (e.g., BAC+3 to BAC+5 equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Microelectronics, or a related field.
Electronics & Hardware Experience: Strong foundation in analog/digital electronics and microelectronic principles. Hands-on experience creating schematics, designing simple-to-moderate test/fixture PCBs, selecting components, and performing board bring-up.
Programming Proficiency: Comfortable scripting in Python or MATLAB to automate measurements, process data, and generate reports.
Lab Expertise: Hands-on experience operating oscilloscopes, source measure units, power supplies, and spectrum/network analyzers.
Mindset: A self-motivated, dynamic and technically curious learner who is highly organized and committed to continuous improvement.
Communication: Strong analytical skills with the ability to clearly document setups, procedures, and technical results.
Language: French C1 (professional working proficiency) required; English B2+ (spoken and written) for cross-site global collaboration.
Experience: Previous internships, co-ops, or hands-on experience in a laboratory or electronics R&D/test environment. Experience in the semiconductor industry is a strong plus.
