Position Summary
The System Administrator is responsible for administering, integrating, and modernizing IT infrastructure across office, field, and acquired business environments. This role has a significant focus on mergers and acquisitions, including infrastructure discovery, server and application migrations, Microsoft 365 tenant conversions, identity consolidation, and post-acquisition standardization. The role operates with a high degree of autonomy and discretion, directly influencing business continuity, cybersecurity risk, and operational readiness by ensuring acquired and existing technology environments are reliable, secure, scalable, and aligned with company standards.
What You Will Do
- Support M&A integration activities, including infrastructure discovery, migration planning, cutover coordination, and post-close systems stabilization.
- Plan and execute server, domain, file share, application, endpoint, and identity migrations across acquired or consolidated environments.
- Support Microsoft 365 tenant-to-tenant migrations, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Entra ID, licensing, security baselines, and user transition planning.
- Use or evaluate migration and management tools such as AvePoint Fly, BitTitan MigrationWiz, Microsoft native migration tooling, PowerShell, and related platforms to support repeatable integration work.
- Manage, support, monitor, secure, and maintain LANs, WANs, network segments, VPN connectivity, and ISP services across offices, jobsites, and acquired locations.
- Install, configure, administer, and maintain servers, cloud services, Windows Server operating systems, business applications, security tools, and enterprise hardware.
- Administer, monitor, and maintain Microsoft Server and client network services, including AD, DHCP, DNS, GPO, Entra ID, and hybrid identity services.
- Design, deploy, and support network infrastructure including file servers, VPN gateways, firewalls, wireless networks, switching, and core network services.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues while maintaining system integrity, security, uptime, and user productivity during integration or migration activities.
- Administer desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, phones, and related peripherals, including onboarding acquired users and devices into company standards.
- Establish and enforce system standards, policies, documentation, and best practices for lifecycle management, reliability, security, and acquisition integration readiness.
- Evaluate and recommend technologies, vendors, and solutions based on business needs, scalability, cost, migration complexity, and operational risk.
- Assess infrastructure-related risks and determine appropriate mitigation strategies with minimal oversight.
- Collaborate with IT teammates, internal stakeholders, acquired company personnel, vendors, and leadership on integration projects and system improvements.
- Take ownership and accountability for assigned responsibilities, timelines, and deliverables.
- Contribute to project management, documentation, runbooks, knowledge transfer, and end-user training.
What You Will Need to be Successful
- 5+ years of experience in a System Administrator, Infrastructure Engineer, Systems Engineer, or similar role, or a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Experience supporting IT integrations, migrations, divestitures, acquisitions, or multi-entity infrastructure consolidation projects.
- Minimum of five years of enterprise-level networking, Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365 administration experience.
- Strong knowledge of networking, operating systems, hardware, cloud services, identity management, security best practices, and business continuity.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 tenant administration, Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Entra ID, Intune, and hybrid identity concepts.
- Proven troubleshooting, analytical, documentation, and project coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities, incomplete information, and deadline-sensitive integration work.
- Hands-on experience with tenant-to-tenant migration tools such as AvePoint Fly, BitTitan MigrationWiz, ShareGate, Quest, or similar migration platforms.
- Experience with server migrations, domain migrations, file share migrations, mailbox migrations, DNS cutovers, identity synchronization, and post-migration validation.
- Proficiency with PowerShell scripting and working knowledge of SQL.
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Intune, WatchGuard, Nutanix AHV, endpoint protection, backup platforms, and infrastructure monitoring tools.
- Experience with email security platforms, security awareness training solutions, and security integrations, including evaluating, migrating, and integrating solutions across different environments.
- Experience with additional scripting or programming languages to support automation, migration validation, reporting, and systems integration.
- Experience managing enterprise backbone network infrastructure including Cisco IOS or Dell OS10 switching.
- Experience with cloud-based identity management solutions, EDR, SIEM, SOAR, vulnerability management, and security hardening.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, including the ability to translate technical migration details into clear updates for business stakeholders.
- Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Special Requirements/Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
Work is primarily performed in an office setting with minimal health or safety hazards. Noise level and temperature is moderate. Minimal lifting or climbing. This position is expected to be fully in-person, onsite, with some travel not limited to, other offices, work sites and local business errands. Requires operating office machines such as, but not limited to, computers, copiers, scanners and phones.
Communication Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as operations manuals and instructions. Ability to write routine correspondence such as letters and memos. Ability to conduct face-to-face and telephone communication. Communicate clearly and effectively with project managers, team members, and stakeholders to support project execution.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instruction. Constructive thinking and alternative short- to long-term solutions must be considered. Action plans must be developed and implemented. Capacity to identify issues, propose solutions, and escalate matters as needed. Accurate documentation, record-keeping, and thorough review of project materials. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and contribute to project success.
