Love swimming and enjoy working with children? Join British Swim School of Kitchener-Waterloo and help students become safer, more confident swimmers. This is an opportunity to do meaningful work, stay active, and build valuable teaching and leadership skills.
No previous swim-teaching experience is required. We provide paid training in our curriculum and teaching methods.

What you’ll do
- Teach water safety, survival skills, and swimming using the British Swim School curriculum.
- Create fun, encouraging lessons for children with different abilities and comfort levels.
- Help nervous swimmers build confidence and celebrate their progress.
- Follow pool safety procedures and maintain attentive supervision during lessons.
- Track student progress and communicate positively with parents and caregivers.
- Assist with lesson equipment setup and cleanup.
- Participate in training and collaborate with instructors and the deck team.
What we’re looking for
- Ability to confidently swim at least two swimming strokes.
- A patient, enthusiastic approach and enjoyment of working with children.
- Reliability, punctuality, and strong communication skills.
- Willingness to learn, take feedback, and follow our teaching methods.
- Comfort being in the water throughout scheduled lessons.
- Availability for consistent weekly shifts, including evenings and/or weekends.
Helpful, but not required
- Lifeguard certification.
- Previous teaching, coaching, camp, or childcare experience.
- A competitive swimming background.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
