SPC Global is looking for an experienced Supply Chain Finance Manager to join our team at our Auburn manufacturing site.
This is a broad, hands-on finance leadership role for someone who enjoys being close to operations and wants to influence how a manufacturing business performs. As the senior finance partner for the site, you will own the end-to-end financial performance of the operation and work closely with the Site Operations Manager and broader Supply Chain leadership team to turn operational performance into better financial outcomes.
You’ll have responsibility spanning P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, inventory, manufacturing costing, forecasting and capital, while providing the insight and challenge needed to drive productivity, cost control and continuous improvement.
What you’ll be doing
This is much more than a month-end or cost accounting role. You’ll be embedded in the operation, partnering with the site team to understand what is happening on the factory floor and what it means financially.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Acting as the primary finance business partner to the Site Operations Manager and site leadership team, providing insight, challenge and financial leadership across site performance.
- Owning site budgeting, forecasting and financial inputs into the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process, translating volumes, labour, overheads, yields, waste and productivity into clear financial outcomes.
- Leading manufacturing cost accounting, including standard costing, BOMs, routings, labour and overhead rates, together with analysis of material, labour, yield, waste, absorption and efficiency variances.
- Owning the site's month-end financial result and balance sheet integrity, ensuring accurate and timely reporting with clear commentary on performance, risks and opportunities.
- Providing financial governance over inventory and working capital, partnering with Operations and Planning to improve inventory accuracy and manage aged, excess and obsolete stock.
- Identifying, validating and tracking productivity and cost-reduction initiatives, ensuring benefits are supported by robust baselines and flow through to financial results.
- Providing financial leadership across site capital investment, including business cases, ROI analysis, spend tracking and post-investment reviews.
- Supporting NPD, automation, operational change and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Improving financial processes, reporting and data through better use of systems and technology, including Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power BI.
About you
We’re looking for someone who combines strong manufacturing finance capability with the confidence to get out from behind the numbers and partner with operational leaders.
You will ideally bring:
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline and CA/CPA qualification.
- Around 5–8+ years' finance experience, ideally within FMCG, manufacturing or another complex operational environment.
- Strong experience in manufacturing accounting, standard costing, inventory and operational finance business partnering.
- A solid understanding of BOMs, routings, absorption, manufacturing variances and cost drivers.
- Experience across budgeting, forecasting, P&L and balance sheet management.
- Strong analytical, financial modelling and Excel capability.
- The ability to translate complex operational data into clear commercial insights and actions.
- Confidence working with and constructively challenging senior operational stakeholders.
- Experience with ERP and reporting tools; Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power BI experience would be advantageous.
Why this role?
This is an opportunity to take genuine ownership of the finances of a manufacturing site while remaining closely connected to a broader Group Finance and Supply Chain function.
You’ll be at the centre of decisions around manufacturing performance, productivity, investment, inventory and operational improvement. It would suit someone who enjoys combining the discipline of strong financial control with forward-looking commercial partnering, and who wants to see the impact of their work directly within the operation.
If you’re an experienced manufacturing finance professional looking for a role where you can influence decisions, challenge performance and help drive operational and financial improvement, we’d love to hear from you.
