Join our Phoenix-based engineering team in a collaborative office environment, with approximately 10% to 15% of your time spent conducting field inspections and visiting project sites throughout the Greater Phoenix area.
Note
Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, a PE license with Arizona registration or eligibility to obtain Arizona registration within 6 months, and 4+ years of building structural engineering/design experience. This position focuses specifically on building structures. Experience limited to bridges, highways, or transportation infrastructure does not qualify.

Job Description
- Lead structural engineering and design projects for commercial, industrial, and residential buildings.
- Prepare and review structural calculations, construction drawings, and engineering details.
- Design building systems and structural elements using steel, concrete, masonry, wood, and cold-formed steel.
- Oversee projects from initial design through construction, ensuring quality, code compliance, and timely delivery.
- Review construction submittals, respond to RFIs, and resolve design and construction challenges.
- Review and seal structural calculations and construction documents as authorized by your professional license.
- Perform occasional building inspections and field assessments to support project requirements.
- Coordinate with clients, architects, contractors, and internal engineering teams.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a supportive, knowledge-sharing environment.
- Help strengthen client relationships and identify opportunities for continued growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license with Arizona registration or eligibility to obtain it within 6 months.
- 4+ years of structural engineering and design experience involving buildings.
- Experience with commercial, industrial, or residential structural systems.
- Knowledge of structural calculations, construction documents, and applicable building codes.
- Ability to manage engineering assignments independently and coordinate effectively with clients.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to conduct occasional field inspections.
- Strong technical communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with AutoCAD, RISA-3D, RAM, Enercalc, Mathcad, or similar engineering software preferred.
- SE license, graduate degree, Engineer of Record experience, and junior engineer mentorship experience are pluses.
