We are seeking a Structural Designer who will work with members of the engineering team in order to develop engineering design solutions appropriate to the context, budget, and aesthetic requirements of building projects. The individual will have the ability to analyze and understand design intent in order to produce efficient and effective technical design solutions. They will collaborate with other professional disciplines and coordinate the design through all phases of the project using their knowledge of building engineering systems, building materials, building codes, and construction technologies.You Will Make an Impact byDesigning components of the overall building including integrating architectural design and adhering to applicable codes and jurisdictional requirementsEvaluating engineering design requirements and creating drawings to support constructions projectsPerforming engineering activities such as calculations, code research, material and building systems research, laying out components, and calculation of program and building areasEvaluating site conditions, including zoning requirements and site constraints and performs site surveys and field reviews to accurately document existing and new construction conditionsSynthesizing, interpreting and coordinating technical information to write engineering specifications for Project ManualsReviewing project products, services and shop drawings to ensure adherence to project documents, relevant jurisdictional codes and corporate quality controlsYou Will Bring to the TeamProficiency in Engineering software skills, including AutoCAD, Revit MEP, as well as structural engineering systems design softwareEngineering knowledge related to building structural systems and multiple building typesFamiliarity with architectural design concepts and building codes is requiredHave successfully completed related post-secondary educationRegistered with a relevant professional engineering association would be an assetAbility to obtain secret security clearance is required1-4 years of project work experienceExperience in structural engineering buildings systemsWe are:The spaces we design and the technology we embrace shape how people live, work, learn, and connect. Actual compensation will be based on several factors such as education, experience, internal equity and skills.
