Sr Ruby on Rails Developer

Driven by our enthusiasm for meeting new talents and fostering connections within the community and as part of our profile mapping program, we are now exploring diverse roles, including Senior Developer to expand the Engineering area. It’s important to note that, in this instance, the role does not involve immediate hiring but rather serves as a part of a pipeline for future recruitments.

We're looking for a Senior Ruby on Rails Developer to join our remote multicultural team and be part of the full development cycle of web and mobile apps: including understanding business needs, designing solutions for specific problems, and developing the product. They should be able to work independently with little support from other devs to develop high-quality software, which is aligned with client needs and company standards.

What are the main responsibilities of this role?

• Deliver well-designed and high-quality code, with automated tests.
• Navigate ambiguity with strong technical judgment: evaluate tradeoffs, break down unclear requirements, and take ownership of the outcome regardless of how much of it was AI-assisted.
• Engage with the product, not just the code: understand the business problem behind each requirement, bring technical judgment into early product definition, and connect technical decisions to product and client value.
• Participate in the overall management of the project (planning and review calls, board and story-map maintenance, etc).
• Ensure the development of high-quality code across the company.
• Write meaningful code reviews, including critical review of AI-generated code.
• Collaborate with internal initiatives.
• Encourage project and company technical improvement.
• Assist team members and generate meaningful discussions during disagreements.
• Execute the right level of documentation for the project.

Which skills and experience do we envision for this role?

• Software experience from degree studies.
• +3 years approx. of experience in the IT field.
• At least 3 years of experience developing apps with Ruby on Rails.
• Experience developing automated tests with Ruby on Rails, preferably using Rspec.
• Strong knowledge of SQL databases design, implementation and best practices.
• Experience with Git and version control workflows.
• Advanced English skills, both written and spoken.
• Experience working with agile methodologies and within an agile environment.
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines (Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery)
• Hands-on experience using AI development tools (such as Cursor or Claude Code) as a core part of the development workflow, going beyond single-prompt assistance into agentic workflows.
• Comfort engaging directly with product/client stakeholders to understand what's driving a requirement, not just what it asks for.
