Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a senior, hands-on project manager with 5-10+ years of experience managing complex technical programs, ideally in a defense, federal, aerospace, engineering, advanced manufacturing, or similarly complex environment.
The strongest candidate would have:
- Experience managing large, cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities
- Experience working directly with federal/government customers, preferably DoD or Navy
- The ability to take an ambiguous or evolving objective and turn it into a clear execution plan with owners, milestones, and accountability
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including the ability to work with senior leaders, technical experts, government stakeholders, and external partners
- Strong project controls experience, including schedules, deliverables, risks/issues, dependencies, resources, and budget
- Experience with project management tools such as Smartsheet, Salesforce, MS Project, Jira, Monday.com, or similar platforms
- PMP certification strongly preferred; Agile/Scrum experience is a plus
- The ability to operate independently, identify and resolve issues, facilitate decisions, and keep a fast-moving project on track
- U.S. citizenship required
- Ability to travel up to approximately 30% as needed
Additive manufacturing experience would be a plus, but it is not required. We are more focused on finding a strong project leader who has experience managing technically complex work in a federal/defense or similar environment.
The primary responsibilities will include owning day-to-day project execution, coordinating the cross-functional team, translating the technical scope into an executable project plan, managing milestones and deliverables, tracking risks and issues, coordinating with the Navy and other stakeholders, and providing clear status reporting and escalation to DIBI leadership.
