CSX is transforming the rail industry through innovative approaches to data & analytics. To maintain the pace of change we are looking for a Sr Mgr Data & Analytics that is passionate about architecting data & analytics solutions that enhance our business. This position will manage all aspects of system improvement, including assessing current state capabilities; analyzing large data sets; identifying the business side of improved technologies; defining requirements, design and implementation support. This position will lead the Data & Analytics team, providing experienced technical design, data & analytics thought leadership, and recommended standard methodologies for developing solutions. Provides Low-tech / No-tech solutions where applicable.
Review, analyze, and evaluate complex financial system and data capabilities for both current and future use.
Experience developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards, reports, data models, and executive-level visualizations to support operational and strategic decision-making.
Demonstrated ability to analyze, interpret, and manage large, complex data sets from multiple business and technology sources to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
Proven ability to partner effectively with Payroll, Human Resources, Labor Relations, Operations, Technology, and Finance stakeholders to deliver cross-functional business solutions.
Ability to prioritize competing demands, manage critical deadlines, and perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Experience leading data-driven transformation initiatives and supporting organizational change through analytics and process improvement.
Payroll systems expertise including Oracle Fusion Cloud and other timekeeping systems
Work with Technology and business knowledge SMEs to develop an understanding about the existing data sources and the potential external data needs.
Oversee data access and organization efforts within the CFO organization to ensure that trusted data sources are available to the broader organization.
Develop a three-year analytics roadmap, in partnership with functional leaders, to modernize decision making tools within the CFO organization. Subsequently, carry out execution of the roadmap.
Facilitate training to the organization on new analytics tools and processes.
Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by manager.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree/4-year Degree
3 or more years of supervisory experience in business analysis/architecture, systems analysis, data warehousing, business intelligence, operations research and/or financial systems
Preferred Qualifications
Graduate Degree
5 or more years of supervisory experience in the railroad transportation industry in business analysis/architecture, systems analysis, data warehousing, business intelligence, operations research and/or financial systems
Five or more years of experience utilizing SQL, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, data warehousing, analytics platforms, and business intelligence tools in large-scale enterprise environments.
Experience supporting Payroll, Human Resources, Labor Relations, and Operations functions through data analytics, workforce insights, and reporting solutions.
Demonstrated success managing high-priority initiatives and delivering results under tight timelines and changing business conditions.
Knowledge and Skills
Effective written and oral communications skills

Working knowledge of data modeling, warehousing and mining
Aptitude to synthesize large amounts of information, draw conclusions and develop innovative solutions
Basic understanding of financial analysis and reporting processes
Adept at learning and applying new technologies

Advanced proficiency with SQL, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Office Suite, Tableau, Alteryx, Oracle DBMS, TOAD for Oracle, SAS, and Focus Programming
