Sr. Legal Counsel

Your Role

We're looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to join our team in Lincoln, Nebraska. You'll serve as a key legal partner across Hudl's global business — minimizing risk, driving deals forward and translating complex legal questions into clear, actionable guidance.

As a Senior Legal Counsel, you'll:

• Lead legal specialties. You'll be the primary attorney for functional areas like privacy, IP, employment or M&A, building scalable policies that balance legal protection with our business goals.
• Be a versatile generalist. You'll work across multiple legal areas — vendor contracts, sales agreements, data protection and more — with the ability to juggle competing priorities without losing momentum.
• Be a strategic advisor. You'll research risk factors and provide proactive, clear guidance to leadership, translating complex legal issues into actionable advice for non-lawyers.
• Negotiate and collaborate. You'll draft complex agreements, build relationships of trust with external parties and regulators, and train internal teams on legal best practices.

Location

Time spent collaborating with other Hudlies in-office will be a regular part of how you work. We're currently prioritizing applicants within commuting distance of Lincoln, Nebraska. You'll be expected to work more days in-office than remote, but will have the freedom to coordinate your specific in-office schedule with your team.

Must-Haves

• Legally qualified. You're admitted to practice law in your jurisdiction with the ability to obtain in-house registration in Nebraska within 6 months of hiring, and have at least six years of experience at a law firm or as in-house counsel.
• A project management mindset. You don't just spot problems — you build scalable processes and templates that help the entire company move faster.
• Technically curious. You have a strong understanding of how legal principles apply to modern SaaS businesses and are comfortable using tools like Microsoft Office to manage your work.
• An elite communicator. You have exceptional writing skills and the ability to coach and mentor junior staff and non-attorney colleagues.

Nice-to-Haves

• Tech industry experience. If you've spent time navigating the legal landscape of a high-growth technology company, that's a major plus.
• Global perspective. Experience working with international teams or coordinating with local counsel across different geographic regions will set you apart.

Our Role

• Champion work-life harmony. We’ll give you the flexibility you need in your work life (e.g., flexible vacation time, company-wide holidays and timeout (meeting-free) days, remote work options and more) so you can enjoy your personal life too.
• Guarantee autonomy. We have an open, honest culture and we trust our people from day one. Your team will support you, but you’ll own your work and have the agency to try new ideas.
• Encourage career growth. We’re lifelong learners who encourage professional development. We’ll give you tons of resources and opportunities to keep growing.
• Provide an environment to help you succeed. We've invested in our offices, designing incredible spaces with our employees in mind. But whether you’re at the office or working remotely, we’ll provide you the tech stack and hardware to do your best work.
• Support your mental and physical health. We care about our employees’ wellbeing. Our Employee Assistance Program, employee resource groups and fitness partner Peerfit have you covered.
• Cover your medical insurance. We have multiple plans to pick from to ensure you’ll have the coverage you (and your dependents) want, including vision, dental, fertility healthcare and family forming benefits.
• Contribute to your 401(K). Yep, that’s free money. We’ll match up to 4% of your own contribution.
