About TRX Training
TRX Training is the creator of the original Suspension Trainer and a global leader in functional fitness, providing equipment, training programs, and the TRX App — a subscription platform delivering 2,000+ workouts, live classes, and on‑demand content to consumers, coaches, and commercial partners worldwide.
TRX is investing in mobile as a core part of its growth strategy, with iOS as the primary platform for new value and differentiation going forward.
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior iOS Engineer to join the TRX product team on a full‑time, dedicated basis. This role focuses on owning the iOS platform end‑to‑end architecture, hands‑on delivery, and backend collaboration.
The ideal candidate is a strong independent contributor who thinks beyond the codebase: comfortable making architecture calls, shipping PRs with minimal oversight, working closely with backend teams, and weighing technical decisions against business and product priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Platform Ownership & Architecture
- Own iOS architecture and technical direction as the app becomes the primary mobile investment
- Design and evolve a modular, scalable codebase (MVVM/MVVM‑C or Clean Architecture)
Delivery & Execution
- Design, build, and ship features independently — write, review, and merge PRs with minimal oversight
- Set up and maintain CI/CD, release, and App Store submission processes
Backend Collaboration
- Work closely with backend/API teams on subscriptions, content delivery, and streaming
- Contribute directly to backend logic or API contracts when needed
Product & Business Judgment
- Weigh trade‑offs between speed, quality, and cost in line with TRX’s commercial goals
- Influence scope and prioritization decisions, not just implementation
Cross‑functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with design, product, and QA in an agile (Scrum/Kanban) environment
- Mentor and set technical standards as the senior‑most iOS voice on the team
What We’re Looking For
Experience
- 8+ years of professional iOS development experience, including recent senior/lead‑level ownership of a production app
- Proven experience shipping consumer apps end‑to‑end, ideally subscription, streaming, or media‑delivery products
- Experience working across iOS and, ideally, some exposure to Android/Flutter (useful for informed platform‑strategy conversations, not hands‑on Android work)
iOS & Technical Skills
- Deep Swift expertise; strong grasp of MVVM / MVVM‑C or Clean Architecture and modularization
- Working knowledge of backend concepts (REST/GraphQL APIs, data modeling, auth flows)
- Experience with CI/CD for mobile (Fastlane or equivalent), SPM/CocoaPods, and app store release processes
- Ability to work autonomously and deliver end‑to‑end with little supervision
Collaboration & Communication
- Strong communication skills and ability to advocate for technical and product trade‑offs
- Comfortable explaining architecture decisions to non‑technical stakeholders
- Ability to collaborate effectively with product, backend, and design teams
Technical Profile Requirements
Candidates should be ready to speak to:
- A production iOS app they owned or led architecturally, with concrete examples of decisions made
- Examples of PRs or features shipped independently, end‑to‑end
- Experience integrating with or influencing backend/API design
- Their approach to CI/CD and release process ownership
Personality & Mindset
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a sense of humor and no ego
- Holds strong technical opinions, loosely held
- Enjoys owning a platform end‑to‑end rather than just executing tickets
- Thrives in a fast‑moving, mostly autonomous environment
- Is comfortable weighing business trade‑offs alongside technical ones
- Communicates clearly and can challenge ideas constructively
