Sr. Designer Electrical/Instrumentation & Controls

Development and design of Electrical/Instrumentation & Controls systems and other complex engineering drawings for nuclear power plants in a 2-D or 3-D environment. Position requires individual to exercise independent judgment to develop designs with minimal direction from Design Supervisor, Design Lead or Engineering and will concurrently support multiple projects. Ability to perform walk downs of equipment in an industrial plant environment, to include climbing ladders, working at heights, carrying equipment up to 50 pounds, accessing security controlled areas, and entering confined spaces and controlled hazardous (e.g. high temperatures, high radiation) areas is required.

Individual will be responsible for the development and design of Electrical/Instrumentation & Controls systems and other complex engineering drawings in a 2-D or 3-D environment. Individual will be responsible to check drawings for accuracy including dimensions, spelling, drafting standards and completeness utilizing correct project design criteria. Participation in field walk downs, as necessary, to obtain measurements, verify as-built documentation, and develop field sketches in support of plant modifications and design installations will occasionally be required. Position requires the individual to exercise independent judgment to develop designs with minimal direction from Design Supervisor, Design Lead or Engineering and will concurrently support multiple projects. The individual will communicate with project engineers and other disciplines to develop drawings and resolve design discrepancies.
