Six-month paid DevOps traineeship (Kiitorata 2027 program) in OP Pohjola's Platform Engineering/GitHub Pipelines team in Helsinki, building CI/CD pipelines, automation, and developer tooling with GitHub Actions, TypeScript, Azure, and Terraform for teams across Finland's largest financial group.
The application period for OP Pohjola’s 2027 Kiitorata Trainee Program is now open! We are looking for 39 open-minded and courageous talents for diverse, challenging, and skill-enhancing roles in various business areas.
Are you curious about what happens after code is written? Do you want to learn how modern software is built, tested, secured, and delivered in a world where AI assistants are becoming part of every developer’s toolbox?
Software development today is about much more than writing code. Reliable delivery pipelines, automation, cloud infrastructure, developer platforms, and governance all play an important role in ensuring that software can be delivered safely, efficiently, and at scale.
As a DevOps Trainee, you will join our Platform Engineering team, which develops and maintains services and tools used by software development teams across OP Pohjola. Our mission is to improve developer experience, enable efficient software delivery, and provide platform capabilities that help teams build high-quality software securely and reliably.
During your trainee period, you will participate in the development and maintenance of platform services, CI/CD solutions, automation, and developer tooling. You will collaborate closely with software development teams, helping them use platform capabilities effectively, resolve challenges, and improve their development workflows.
You will also gain firsthand experience of how AI is transforming software development. We are actively exploring AI-assisted software engineering, including coding assistants, automated testing, developer productivity tools, and AI-enabled workflows. As part of the team, you will have opportunities to contribute to experiments and improvements that help us understand how AI can be adopted safely and effectively in a highly regulated environment.
This role offers a unique opportunity to understand how modern software delivery works in practice and how platform teams enable large engineering organizations to succeed.
You do not need to be an expert in every technology. What matters most is curiosity, a willingness to learn, and an interest in how software systems are built, delivered, and operated.
To succeed in this role, you:
Experience with technologies such as TypeScript, GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, containers, cloud platforms, or AI-assisted development tools is considered an advantage, but it is not required.
You will join GitHub Pipelines team, which provides delivery pipelines, automation, and developer tooling for software teams across OP Pohjola.
We work with technologies such as GitHub Actions, TypeScript, Azure, Terraform, and AI-assisted development tools. Our goal is to make software development easier, safer, and more efficient for development teams while ensuring compliance and high quality standards.
Our work is highly collaborative. We work closely with software development teams throughout OP, helping them solve delivery challenges, adopt platform capabilities, and improve their developer experience. We value knowledge sharing, continuous improvement, practical problem-solving, and supporting one another's growth.
Join one of Finland’s largest technology organizations and gain hands-on experience with modern software engineering, cloud platforms, automation, DevOps, and platform engineering. You’ll work alongside experienced professionals, contribute to real services used by development teams across OP Pohjola, and build valuable skills for the future of software development in an environment where continuous learning, collaboration, and emerging technologies like AI are part of everyday work.
At OP Pohjola, you will work on challenging tasks of daily life, and in addition to gaining a vast amount of life skills and new expertise, you will be a part of Finland's most attractive financial industry player. With your actions and a determined attitude, you can influence your own career path here. We support your personal development and encourage you boldly! You will be employed by OP Pohjola for a paid six-month contract from March 1 to August 31, 2027, and we offer the same salary to you and all trainee colleagues; €3,200 per month.
To help counterbalance work where you are expected to take a lot of responsibility, we seek to ensure employee wellbeing and to enable forward-looking work arrangements. We offer a stable working environment where you can contribute to our core values: responsibility, people first and succeeding together.
At OP Pohjola, we work in a hybrid model where our ways of working are guided by our customers' needs, our business objectives, and the nature of each role.

We offer comprehensive occupational health care, extensive medical treatment expenses insurance and a full-time group accident insurance policy. We invest in wellbeing at work by encouraging a good work-life balance, providing flexibility in your daily life, and offering lunch, sport and cultural benefits and opportunities for affordable holidays in OP Pohjola timeshares.
