Job Description
SearchPlus HR is seeking a qualified and experienced Specialist Occupational Medicine Physician to join a reputable healthcare group in Qatar. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting workplace health, preventing occupational illnesses and injuries, and providing specialised medical assessments to support employee wellbeing and workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct occupational health assessments, including pre-employment, periodic, fitness-for-duty, and return-to-work medical examinations.
- Diagnose, manage, and prevent work-related illnesses and occupational injuries.
- Assess employees' fitness for specific roles and provide recommendations regarding workplace restrictions or reasonable adjustments.
- Evaluate occupational exposure to physical, chemical, biological, and ergonomic hazards.
- Develop and implement occupational health programmes focused on disease prevention, employee wellbeing, and workplace safety.
- Monitor employees with work-related health conditions and coordinate appropriate treatment, rehabilitation, and follow-up.
- Provide medical advice on workplace health risks, injury prevention, and occupational hygiene practices.
- Collaborate with employers, human resources teams, occupational health nurses, safety officers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain confidential and accurate medical records in accordance with applicable healthcare regulations.
- Ensure compliance with relevant occupational health standards, clinical guidelines, and Qatar's regulatory requirements.
- Participate in workplace health promotion initiatives, clinical audits, and continuous quality improvement activities.
Requirements
Recognised specialist qualification in Occupational Medicine from the UK, Australia, or South Africa.
Relevant postgraduate specialist training and clinical experience in occupational medicine.
Experience in occupational health assessments, workplace health risk evaluation, and the management of work-related illnesses.
Knowledge of occupational health legislation, workplace safety standards, and preventive healthcare practices.
Strong clinical assessment, report-writing, and communication skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with employers and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
Eligibility for Specialist-level professional licensing in Qatar, subject to the relevant authority's qualification and experience requirements.
