Data#3 is hiring a hands-on Solutions Architect in Sydney to lead the technical design of smart infrastructure projects — a large-scale EV charging rollout and a smart parking signage integration. The role defines device-to-cloud-to-enterprise integration patterns (APIs, IoT protocols like OCPP, payments), produces architecture documentation, and guides vendor selection with a security and data-go
Salary: Weekly pay / No contractor admin fees
Data#3 is seeking an experienced Solution Architect with a strong IoT and integration background to lead the technical design of two smart infrastructure projects: a large-scale EV charging rollout and a smart parking signage integration. You'll design how devices, cloud platforms, mobile apps and enterprise systems fit together, guide vendor selection, and make sure the solutions are secure, supportable and delivered on time.
This is a hands-on design role, not a strategy one. You'll be the technical lead between facilities and infrastructure stakeholders, IT, cyber security and external vendors, turning business requirements into clear, buildable architecture.
Duties:
Lead the end-to-end architecture for a large-scale EV charging network, covering charge points, the charge point management platform (CPMS) and a user-facing mobile app
Design the integration of smart parking signage with parking, back-end and enterprise systems
Define device-to-platform and platform-to-enterprise integration patterns (APIs, IoT protocols, identity, payments, data)
Produce architecture documentation including SADs, ADRs, integration designs and interface specifications
Advise on build versus buy, shape tender technical requirements and evaluate vendor solutions
Make sure designs meet architecture, cyber security and data governance standards
Run workshops and present recommendations to steering groups and senior stakeholders
Skills and experience:
Senior Solution Architect with a strong delivery track record in complex environments
Hands-on experience architecting EV charging, smart parking or similar IoT/smart infrastructure solutions
Deep integration background across devices, cloud platforms, mobile apps and enterprise systems
CPMS platforms and OCPP experience highly regarded
Exposure to parking guidance, LPR/ANPR or payment integration highly regarded
Solid understanding of cyber security for IoT/OT environments
Experience contributing to procurement and vendor evaluations
Confident communicator who can explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
