Software Quality Assurance Engineer (Manual) Help us make sure that the software supporting space operations works reliably, accurately, and as expected - before it reaches our customers.
About Sybilla Technologies At Sybilla Technologies, we are on a mission to let the world see what happens in space — clearly, reliably, and on time.
In a domain where objects travel at 24,000 km/h and a single unseen fragment can destroy a satellite or endanger a crew, visibility is everything. We transform that responsibility into action, building systems, software, and services that safeguard the future of global space operations.
Born from a passion for astronomy, engineering, and exploration, Sybilla has grown from a small, bootstrapped startup into a recognized European space-tech company. We work across Space Traffic Management, Space Surveillance & Tracking, and Space Operations, combining advanced optical systems, software, automation, and data.
Our technologies help governments, defense organizations, space operators, and other customers understand what is happening in orbit and make better, more informed decisions in an increasingly complex space environment.
Today, we are a growing international team of astrophysicists, engineers, software developers, analysts, project managers, and other specialists working together across Europe and beyond.
About the role As a Software Quality Assurance Engineer (Manual), you will take ownership of the functional quality of assigned features and releases. Your role will be to make sure that delivered functionality meets business requirements, acceptance criteria, and user expectations.
You will work closely with Development and Product teams, turning requirements into structured test scenarios, identifying defects, validating fixes, and providing clear feedback throughout the development process. You will also help us make our QA practices more consistent, transparent, and effective as the company grows.
This is a hands-on role for someone who is comfortable working independently, investigating how systems behave, asking questions when something is unclear, and taking responsibility for the quality of their work. You will work primarily with manual testing, while also having the opportunity to contribute to testing non-LLM machine learning models if you have the relevant experience.
What You Will Do - Own the functional quality of assigned features and releases.
- Analyse business requirements and translate them into structured test cases and test scenarios.
- Design, maintain, and execute manual tests using Azure Test Plans or similar tools.
- Identify, document, and track defects in ClickUp, providing clear, reproducible bug reports.
- Validate REST APIs using tools such as Postman or Bruno, including requests, responses, HTTP methods, and status codes.
- Validate data integrity and end-to-end data flows using PostgreSQL/SQL queries.
- Use browser DevTools to investigate issues and support troubleshooting.
- Verify fixes and perform regression testing to ensure changes do not introduce new issues.
- Maintain test plans, test cases, and other QA documentation.
- Work closely with Product and Development teams to clarify requirements, communicate risks, and improve product quality.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes, testing practices, and team ways of working.
- Where applicable, support QA activities related to non-LLM machine learning models, including local inference runs, data validation, output consistency, and awareness of model drift.
What You Bring Must-have
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in manual software testing.
- Practical knowledge of software test design and testing methodologies.
- Hands-on experience testing REST APIs, preferably with Postman or Bruno.
- Good understanding of HTTP methods, status codes, and request/response structures.
- Practical SQL skills, preferably with PostgreSQL.
- Proficiency with browser DevTools.
- Experience with Azure Test Plans or similar test management tools.
- Strong skills in defect reporting and tracking, with a focus on clarity and reproducibility.
- Experience working in a fast-paced startup or similarly dynamic environment.
- Good command of Polish & English, allowing you to communicate across teams and work comfortably with technical documentation.
- A professional, proactive, and independent approach to work.
- A strong commitment to quality and a habit of communicating and reporting issues openly.
Nice to Have
- Experience testing non-LLM machine learning models.
- Hands-on experience running local ML inference.
- Knowledge of SDLC and Agile methodologies.
- Bachelor's degree or higher.
- Basic knowledge of security testing, e.g. Burp Suite or similar tools.
- Basic scripting skills in Python, C#, or PowerShell.
- Previous experience working with software or technologies related to space, astronomy, or other technically complex domains.
What We Offer - Remote work model (occasional visits at HQ in Bydgoszcz/Zielonka).
- Compensation: PLN 9,000-14,000 gross/month (UoP), depending on experience and skills.
- Work in a rapidly growing company within the prestigious Space industry.
- Fulltime position with flexible working hours.
- Private medical care (LuxMed) and sports package (Multisport).
- Structured onboarding with dedicated support during the first weeks.
Why Sybilla?
At Sybilla, we don't just observe space. We make it navigable. Predictable. Safe. And you can help shape what comes next.
We believe that good work comes with ownership and responsibility. You will have space to make decisions, raise concerns, and take action rather than simply pass issues to someone else.
We care about quality and getting things done. We value people who turn problems into solutions, respect commitments and deadlines, and communicate early when something is not going according to plan.
We also believe in data-driven decisions, transparency, continuous learning, and adaptability. As a growing company, not everything is already defined — so we look for people who can work with changing conditions, improve what exists, and help us build better ways of working.
And while we take our work seriously, we do not believe that permanent overload is the answer. We aim for sustainable performance, where quality, focus, and responsibility can be maintained over time.
